Large-format M72 and F-mount lenses
Once the sensor exceeds 4/3″, a C-mount thread physically cannot pass the required image circle — that is where M72 and the F-mount bayonet begin. These are optics for high-resolution cameras and large fields of view: glass panel inspection, solar modules, large products imaged whole. Focal lengths from 25 to 95 mm.

How to choose
F-mount is a photographic bayonet with a longer flange distance, so such a lens will not fit a C-mount camera without an adapter. M72→F and M42→F adapters are available, but each adds its own thickness that has to be accounted for in the flange distance.

Why are M72 and F-mount used instead of C-mount here?

F-mount entries are listed at 25, 35, 50, and 80 mm. The M72 × 0.75 group spans 30 to 95 mm and contains several focal-length variants. Mount availability must therefore be checked together with the required focal length.
Can an F-mount lens be installed directly on a C-mount camera?
No. F-mount has a longer flange distance and requires an adapter for a C-mount camera. M72-to-F and M42-to-F adapters are available, and the thickness of the selected adapter must be included in the flange-distance calculation.
Why must working range be checked on each lens variant?
Nominal focal length does not define the focus interval. Listed examples range from 98 mm to infinity, while other products have bounded intervals such as 200 to 900 mm or 350 to 700 mm. Select against the actual object distance.
