Imaging role and neighbours

MV-ID3040RM combines a 2688 × 1536 monochrome CMOS sensor with a rolling shutter and two optical configurations. The C-mount version reaches 58 fps with exposure from 52 µs to 1000 ms; the mechanical version runs at 20 fps with exposure from 540 µs to 200 ms. Both feed a decoder rated at 36 codes/sec through 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet.

This split configuration lets an installation use C-mount optics for a selected field and focus, or the smaller mechanical arrangement where housing size is the priority. The reader supports GS1 forms of Code 128, QR Code and Data Matrix alongside the other listed symbologies. Three opto-isolated inputs and three outputs on the 12-pin M12 connector provide electrically separated trigger and result connections.

MV-ID3060RM uses the same 1/2.4-inch rolling-shutter pixel geometry and 36 codes/sec rate, but increases resolution from 2688 × 1536 to 3200 × 1920 while running at 20 fps. MV-ID3050PM instead uses a global shutter, 2432 × 2048 and 60 codes/sec. Choose MV-ID3040RM for its 58 fps C-mount option; move to MV-ID3060RM for more pixels or MV-ID3050PM for global exposure.

Selection and applications

C-mount code reading at 58 fps. Triggered rolling-shutter acquisition. GS1 code transfer to controllers.

Minimum kit: Use the C-mount MV-ID3040RM with a C-mount lens, a Fast Ethernet cable, a 12-pin M12 power and I/O lead, and a 12 VDC to 24 VDC supply.

Nearby in the range: MV-ID3060RM — Prefer it when 3200 × 1920 resolution is needed at 20 fps.; MV-ID3050PM — Prefer it for global-shutter capture and a 60 codes/sec reading limit..

FAQ

How do the C-mount and mechanical MV-ID3040RM versions differ?

The C-mount configuration reaches 58 fps and offers 52 µs to 1000 ms exposure. The mechanical version reaches 20 fps with a 540 µs to 200 ms range. Their dimensions, weight, lens-cap arrangement and maximum power consumption also differ.

Is MV-ID3040RM intended for fast or stationary code motion?

Its CMOS sensor uses a rolling shutter, so motion and exposure timing need to be controlled to avoid skew. The C-mount version can acquire at 58 fps, while decoding is rated at 36 codes/sec; a trigger and sufficiently short exposure should be set for the line.

What supply and discrete signals does MV-ID3040RM require?

Power can be supplied from 12 VDC to 24 VDC. A 12-pin M12 connector provides three opto-isolated inputs, three opto-isolated outputs and one RS-232 channel. Maximum consumption is 8 W for C-mount and 19 W for mechanical with its light enabled.

Which control protocols are available over MV-ID3040RM Ethernet?

The reader uses 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet and lists SmartSDK, TCP Client, TCP Server, FTP, Profinet, Melsec/SLMP, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, UDP and FINS. Serial communication is also listed for integrations that do not send every result over Ethernet.

What sealing and temperature limits apply to MV-ID3040RM?

The metal reader is rated IP67 when the waterproof lens cap is installed correctly. Its working range is 0 °C to 50 °C at 20% RH to 95% RH without condensation, and its storage range is –30 °C to 70 °C.
