Where this model fits

Monochrome acquisition at 12.3 MP combines a Sony IMX545 global-shutter sensor, 2.74 µm pixels and a 4096 × 3000 image with a 9.5 fps Gigabit Ethernet stream. MV-CH123-10GM is configured for intensity-based measurement and defect detection where Bayer color is unnecessary. Its exposure system spans a 1 µs to 2 µs UltraShort mode and a 3 µs to 10 sec standard mode, giving the integrator both brief motion-free captures and long integration settings.

Edges, printed marks and surface contrast can be evaluated across the full frame while the global shutter retains geometry on indexed or continuously moving parts. The opto-isolated Line 0 input can receive a machine trigger, Line 1 provides an isolated output, and Line 2 is bidirectional and non-isolated. Gigabit Ethernet and PoE suit a networked station, while the 29 mm × 29 mm × 42 mm enclosure and C-mount keep the optical assembly compact.

MV-CH123-10GC is the direct color counterpart: it shares the sensor, resolution, 9.5 fps rate and GigE interface but outputs Bayer RG 8. MV-CH123-10UM retains monochrome 4096 × 3000 imaging and increases the full-frame rate to 31.5 fps on USB 3.0, with a shorter 30 mm body. Select the GM for monochrome GigE and PoE; move to the GC for color evidence or the UM for the higher monochrome frame rate over USB.

Selection and applications

Monochrome edge and geometry inspection. Global-shutter capture of indexed parts. PoE-connected 12.3 MP imaging.

Minimum setup: MV-CH123-10GM, a C-mount lens, a Gigabit Ethernet cable, and either PoE or a 9 V DC to 24 V DC supply.

Nearby in the range: MV-CH123-10GC — Prefer it when Bayer RG 8 color is required at 4096 × 3000.; MV-CH123-10UM — Prefer it when Mono 8 output at 31.5 fps and USB 3.0 are required..

FAQ

Why choose the monochrome MV-CH123-10GM rather than its color counterpart?

MV-CH123-10GM produces Mono 8 data from the Sony IMX545 at 4096 × 3000 and 9.5 fps. MV-CH123-10GC uses the same sensor, frame size and rate but outputs Bayer RG 8. The GM is the factual match when the inspection signal is brightness rather than color.

How is MV-CH123-10GM powered in a Gigabit Ethernet installation?

The input range is 9 V DC to 24 V DC, and PoE is supported on the Gigabit Ethernet connection. Typical consumption is 2.4 W at 12 V DC. A separate 6-pin P7 connector also carries power and the camera I/O when the installation does not use PoE.

What does the global shutter add at the MV-CH123-10GM frame rate?

The global shutter exposes the 4096 × 3000 frame together, which preserves feature geometry when an acquisition is triggered on a moving part. Full-frame output is 9.5 fps in Mono 8, and the exposure can be set as short as 1 µs in UltraShort mode.

What optical interface must a lens for MV-CH123-10GM use?

The camera uses C-mount around a 1/1.1-inch sensor with a 2.74 µm × 2.74 µm pixel pitch. A selected lens must cover that sensor format and preserve detail over 4096 × 3000. The enclosure extends 42 mm behind its 29 mm × 29 mm face.

Which temperature and humidity limits apply to MV-CH123-10GM?

Operation is specified from –10 °C to 50 °C and at 20% RH to 95% RH without condensation. Storage extends from –30 °C to 80 °C. With the lens and wiring correctly installed, the enclosure carries an IP40 ingress rating.
