Single-row 8K Camera Link inspection

An 8192 × 1 mono CMOS line gives MV-CL081-41CM the simplest sensor geometry among the 8K models. Its 7 µm pixels operate at 20 kHz in Camera Link Base, 40 kHz in Medium and 80 kHz in Full configuration. The SDR Camera Link connector carries production image data, while USB is available for firmware updating. Exposure can be set from 2 µs to 10 ms.

The long single row suits surface, edge and dimensional inspection where 8192 samples are needed across a wide moving target without TDI processing. Four configurable I/O lines are available on the 12-pin P10 power/I/O connector, and Camera Link also exposes CC1/CC2/CC3/CC4 signals. Both single-ended and differential arrangements are supported for synchronizing the line to machine motion.

MV-CL082-92CM keeps Camera Link but moves to an 8192 × 2 mono array with 2-TDI and a 100 kHz 80-bit maximum. MV-CL082-91F1M also uses 8192 × 2 and 2-TDI, transferring over an LC fiber connector at 146 kHz in 1-Line mode. MV-CL084-91CM extends the sensor to 8192 × 4, adds 4-TDI and retains the 100 kHz Camera Link ceiling for installations needing more row modes.

Selection and applications

Single-row 8K surface scanning. Wide mono Camera Link inspection. Full-mode line capture at 80 kHz.

Minimum kit: Install the MV-CL081-41CM with an M72*0.75 line-scan lens or adapted F-mount optic, a Camera Link cable and frame grabber, and a 12 V DC to 24 V DC supply on the 12-pin P10 connector.

Nearby in the range: MV-CL082-92CM — Prefer it for an 8192 × 2 array with 2-TDI and 100 kHz 80-bit operation.; MV-CL082-91F1M — Prefer it for 8192 × 2 mono acquisition through an LC fiber connector.; MV-CL084-91CM — Prefer it for an 8192 × 4 array with 4-TDI..

FAQ

Which Camera Link mode gives MV-CL081-41CM its 80 kHz rate?

Full configuration reaches 80 kHz. Medium is listed at 40 kHz and Base at 20 kHz. Because the camera has an 8192 × 1 mono line, the frame grabber and cabling should be configured for the selected full-width line rate.

What is distinctive about the MV-CL081-41CM sensor layout?

It uses a single 8192-pixel mono row with 7 µm pixels and 1-line scanning. Related MV-CL082 and MV-CL084 models use multiple rows and offer TDI modes, while this model keeps a direct single-row acquisition structure.

Which lens mount is required by the wide MV-CL081-41CM line?

The native interface is M72*0.75 with a 12 mm flange back length. An F-mount lens can be used through an adapter, provided it covers the complete 8192-pixel line and resolves the 7 µm pixel pitch.

How should MV-CL081-41CM power and timing be connected?

Supply 12 V DC to 24 V DC through the 12-pin P10 power/I/O connector; typical consumption is 5.8 W at 12 V DC. Four configurable I/O lines and Camera Link CC1/CC2/CC3/CC4 are available for timing.

Does MV-CL081-41CM have the same cold limit as other 8K models?

Its working range begins at 0 °C and extends to 55 °C, rather than the -20 °C lower limit listed for several related 8K cameras. Storage remains -30 °C to 80 °C, and IP40 applies with proper lens installation and wiring.
