High-rate reading applications

Reading speed is the defining feature of MV-ID3016XM. A 1408 × 1200 monochrome CMOS sensor captures with a global shutter at 60 fps, while decoding reaches 110 codes/sec. The 1/2.53-inch imager uses 3.45 µm pixels and an exposure interval of 25 µs to 30000 µs. Fast Ethernet at 100 Mbit/s handles host and controller communication.

This balance fits dense flows of modest-size labels, especially where a trigger must freeze each moving item. The top button can also trigger the device during setup. Red point light, white diffused light and transparent, polarized and diffused caps are included in the optical arrangement; optional point sources cover white, blue, IR and UV. The straight- or right-angle body can match the available sight line.

MV-ID3013PM has fewer vertical samples at 1280 × 1024 and a lower 84 codes/sec ceiling, although both run at 60 fps. MV-ID3030XM raises resolution to 2048 × 1536 but decodes at 90 codes/sec. MV-ID3016XM is the throughput-oriented choice between them: use it when 1408 × 1200 covers the code field and the extra reading-rate margin matters more than added image detail.

Selection and applications

Dense-flow code decoding. Globally exposed conveyor capture. Button-triggered reader setup.

Minimum kit: Install MV-ID3016XM with its liquid-lens or mechanical optics, a Fast Ethernet cable, a 12-pin M12 power and I/O lead, and a 24 VDC supply.

Nearby in the range: MV-ID3013PM — Prefer it when 1280 × 1024 and an 84 codes/sec ceiling meet the station requirement.; MV-ID3030XM — Prefer it for 2048 × 1536 sampling at up to 90 codes/sec..

FAQ

How can MV-ID3016XM decode 110 codes/sec while imaging at 60 fps?

Maximum reading speed and frame rate are separate stated limits. MV-ID3016XM acquires as many as 60 frames each second, while its decoder is rated for as many as 110 codes/sec; station validation must determine the achieved combination for the selected codes and image setup.

What shutter and exposure controls support moving labels on MV-ID3016XM?

The monochrome CMOS sensor has a global shutter, and exposure can be set from 25 µs to 30000 µs. Hardware triggering is available through the opto-isolated inputs, and pressing the top button can trigger the reader during adjustment.

What lighting is built into the MV-ID3016XM optical head?

The standard combination is a red point source plus white diffused illumination, with transparent, polarized and diffused lens caps. Optional point sources are offered in white, blue, IR and UV for matching illumination to mark and surface response.

How does MV-ID3016XM connect directly to machine controls?

A 12-pin M12 connector carries 24 VDC and provides three opto-isolated inputs, three opto-isolated outputs and one RS-232 channel. Fast Ethernet supports SmartSDK, TCP, FTP, Profinet, MELSEC/SLMP, Ethernet/IP, ModBus, Fins and UDP.

Do the MV-ID3016XM focus versions share one temperature range?

No. The liquid-lens version is rated from 0 °C to 45 °C, while the mechanical version is rated from 0 °C to 50 °C. Both list storage from –30 °C to 70 °C and IP67 when the waterproof lens cap is installed correctly.
