Global-shutter code reading

A mono CMOS global-shutter image sensor gives MV-IDH5000P its motion-oriented reading profile. The optical system covers 43° × 35° and combines red and blue diffuse illumination with white direct illumination. It reads the listed mainstream 1D formats, including Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, Codabar and EAN/UPC, as well as Data Matrix, QR Code, Micro QR and PDF417.

Global exposure makes the reader suited to hand motion and moving labels because the image is acquired across the sensor at one instant. Diffuse red or blue light provides alternatives for surfaces that return direct light unevenly, while white direct light supplies a separate illumination geometry. USB HID/CDC and RS-232 allow either host-style manual entry or serial transfer to industrial equipment.

MV-IDH5000P occupies a protected wired position among the handheld models. MV-IDH2000P uses USB 2.0 with SmartSDK, Serial and USB HID/CDC communication and is rated IP42; choose it when the documented 3 mil 1D and 4 mil 2D limits govern selection. MV-IDH7000P adds a 1280 × 800 sensor plus Fast Ethernet variants, while MV-IDH9000 raises protection from IP65 to IP67.

Overview

A mid-range handheld reader for direct part marking: IP65, 2 m drop. ‼️ The vendor publishes no separate datasheet for the configurations in the 2026Q3 price list — we confirm the specifications with the vendor before ordering.

The configuration is set by three segments of the part number: sensor and range, lighting, interface. Tell us what you read and from what distance and we will match the part number.

FAQ

What imaging method distinguishes the MV-IDH5000P reader?

It uses a monochrome CMOS global-shutter image sensor. The entire image is exposed at the same instant, matching handheld or target motion better than a line-by-line exposure method, while the view covers 43° × 35°.

Which illumination choices are built into MV-IDH5000P?

The reader provides red and blue diffuse illumination together with white direct illumination. These named lighting paths give the imaging head different ways to illuminate 1D and 2D symbols within its 43° × 35° view.

What one-dimensional codes are listed for the MV-IDH5000P?

The listed mainstream 1D group includes Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, Codabar, EAN/UPC and Interleaved 2 of 5. The same mono global-shutter imaging head also handles mainstream 2D formats.

Which 2D and stacked symbols can MV-IDH5000P read?

Data Matrix, QR Code, Micro QR and PDF417 are explicitly included in the mainstream 2D list. Red and blue diffuse illumination and white direct illumination are available to form the image used for decoding.

How is the MV-IDH5000P connected, powered and protected?

Data connections are USB HID/CDC and RS-232. The reader can take 5 V DC from USB or 12 V DC to 24 V DC, and its housing carries an IP65 rating for the installed handheld station.
