Integrated reading and mono inspection

Integrated SEMI OCR and code reading shape the role of MV-SC6500. Its mono CMOS global-shutter sensor records 1408 × 768 at up to 60 fps with 3.45 µm pixels and exposure from 16 µs to 1 sec. The automatic M12-mount optics and red LED form a contained imaging arrangement, while the algorithm list covers SEMI OCR characters, data matrix codes, QR codes and barcodes.

The camera fits reading and verification stations where a wide, shallow frame follows a line of characters or codes. Global exposure supports moving targets, and the OK/NG result indicator gives local state at the device. Network results use Gigabit Ethernet with PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus, TCP or UDP. The 17-pin M12 connection provides isolated and configurable I/O plus RS-232 for machine timing.

MV-SC6500P doubles the maximum rate to 120 fps while reducing the image to 1408 × 576 and changing machine connection to a 6-pin P7 with one input and one output. It also adds SCClient and supports RGB through a bar light. MV-SC6016M offers 1408 × 1024 mono capture at 120 fps with C-mount optics, fitting a taller frame and externally selected lens rather than the automatic M12 arrangement.

Selection and applications

SEMI OCR character reading. Data matrix and QR code decoding. Mono barcode inspection at up to 60 fps.

Minimum kit: Use MV-SC6500 with its automatic M12-mount optical arrangement and red LED, a Gigabit Ethernet cable, a 17-pin M12 power and I/O cable, and a 24 VDC supply.

Nearby in the range: MV-SC6500P — Prefer it for 1408 × 576 mono reading at up to 120 fps.; MV-SC6016M — Prefer it for a taller 1408 × 1024 mono frame at up to 120 fps with C-mount..

FAQ

Which marking types are included in the onboard algorithm set?

The stated functions cover SEMI OCR characters, data matrix codes, QR codes and barcodes. Processing runs through Vision Master Platform with the deep-learning module, and the camera includes 64 GB storage for its operating material.

What optical arrangement is built around the mono sensor?

MV-SC6500 uses an automatic M12-mount lens arrangement and a red LED light source. The mono sensor is 1/3.2-inch with 3.45 µm pixels, recording a 1408 × 768 frame at up to 60 fps.

How are a trigger and pass-fail result connected electrically?

The 17-pin M12 connector includes two opto-isolated inputs, two opto-isolated outputs and two configurable non-isolated input/output lines, plus RS-232. The housing also has a dedicated OK/NG result indicator alongside power, network and user indicators.

Which network protocols can report a decoded result?

A 1000 Mbit/s Gigabit Ethernet interface supports TCP, UDP, Modbus, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Fins, MC and FTP. This allows the decoded character or code result to be exchanged through general or industrial Ethernet paths.

What enclosure and operating limits apply to the reader?

The ingress rating is IP40 with the waterproof lens cap installed correctly. Operating temperature is 0 °C to 40 °C, and humidity is 20% RH to 95% RH without condensation. Typical power draw is 16.5 W from 24 VDC.
