High-speed capture and range position
At 336 fps, the 672 × 512 output prioritises event timing over image detail. The PYTHON300 CMOS sensor uses a global shutter, so the complete frame represents one instant rather than a line-by-line scan of a moving subject. Its 1/4-inch format, C-mount and Gigabit Ethernet connection place this compact 29 × 29 × 42 mm camera in fast, low-resolution inspection stations.
Rapid presence checks, counting and position tracking on a moving line follow directly from the global shutter and 336 fps ceiling. Exposure can be set from 40 µs to 10 sec, while the 59 dB dynamic range and 0–15 dB gain provide adjustment for changing illumination. A network cable can also carry PoE; a separate 12 V DC input is available. The enclosure is rated IP30 and operates from 0 to 50 °C.
Choose MV-CA003-20GC when 672 × 512 at 336 fps must travel over Gigabit Ethernet. MV-CA003-21UC moves to USB 3.0 and reaches 814.5 fps, but its frame is 640 × 480 and it is explicitly color. MV-CA004-10GC V3.0 gives color 720 × 540 at 312.9 fps with a Sony IMX287 sensor, while MV-CA013-20GC raises resolution to 1280 × 1024 and reduces the rate to 90 fps.

Selection and applications
High-rate part presence checks. Moving target position tracking. Fast event sequence capture.
Minimum kit: Pair the camera with a C-mount lens, a Gigabit Ethernet cable, and either a 12 V DC supply or PoE.
Nearby in the range: MV-CA003-21UC — Prefer USB 3.0 color capture at 640 × 480 and up to 814.5 fps.; MV-CA004-10GC V3.0 — Prefer color 720 × 540 imaging with the Sony IMX287 at 312.9 fps.; MV-CA013-20GC — Prefer 1280 × 1024 resolution over Gigabit Ethernet when 90 fps is sufficient..

FAQ
How does the global shutter support fast inspection tasks?
The PYTHON300 sensor exposes a 672 × 512 frame with a global shutter, and the camera delivers up to 336 fps. That combination is intended for observing successive positions of moving parts without the time offset inherent in line-by-line frame readout.
What network and power arrangement does this camera require?
Image data uses Gigabit Ethernet and remains compatible with Fast Ethernet. The camera accepts 12 V DC and also supports PoE, so an installation may carry power over the network connection instead of running a separate supply lead to the 29 × 29 × 42 mm body.
Which lens mount and sensor coverage should be selected?
The camera has a C-mount and a 1/4-inch PYTHON300 sensor. Select a C-mount lens whose image circle covers that format, then determine focal length from the required scene coverage and mounting distance.
What exposure and gain adjustment ranges are available?
Exposure is adjustable from 40 µs to 10 sec, with gain from 0 to 15 dB. The short end supports fast-event capture under sufficient light, while longer exposure and gain provide two documented controls when the subject or illumination is less demanding dynamically.
What environmental limits matter when mounting the camera?
The housing is rated IP30, weighs 68 g and is specified for operation from 0 to 50 °C at 20–80% RH. Those values should govern enclosure, ventilation and mounting decisions; the camera body measures 29 × 29 × 42 mm.
