Multi-light 8K imaging with a 16-row array

An 8192 × 16 mono CMOS array and integrated multi-light sequencing set MV-CL084-91CM-PRO apart from every other model in the lineup. Its 5 µm pixels support 1-line, 2-TDI and 4-TDI acquisition plus 2-lamp, 3-lamp or 4-lamp control. With multi-light control disabled or at 1 lamp, Camera Link reaches 20 kHz Base, 40 kHz Medium and 75 kHz Full or 80-bit operation.

Separate illumination states can be captured as a wide target moves past the line. At 2 lamps the maximum reaches 50 kHz in 80-bit mode, at 3 lamps 33 kHz, and at 4 lamps 25 kHz; the rate reduction reflects the added lighting sequence. Exposure is 3 µs to 10 ms, and 1.2×, 2.7× and 4.6× gain settings support adjustment of the monochrome response.

MV-CL084-91CM is the smaller 8192 × 4 Camera Link variant, reaching 100 kHz in 80-bit mode and drawing 9.7 W. MV-CL084-91F2M provides 8192 × 4 over 2LC fiber with up to 4-light control and 200 kHz in 1-Line, 1-light mode. MV-CL084-91Y2M has the same four-row multi-light rate table as that fiber model but transfers through two CXP-10 Micro-BNC interfaces.

Selection and applications

8K multi-light surface inspection. Sixteen-row mono acquisition. Four-lamp Camera Link scanning.

Minimum kit: Build the station with the MV-CL084-91CM-PRO, an M72*0.75 line-scan lens or adapted F-mount optic, a Camera Link cable and frame grabber, and a 24 V DC supply sized for 22.9 W.

Nearby in the range: MV-CL084-91CM — Prefer it for an 8192 × 4 Camera Link array at up to 100 kHz in 80-bit operation.; MV-CL084-91F2M — Prefer it for four-row multi-light acquisition over 2LC fiber.; MV-CL084-91Y2M — Prefer it for four-row multi-light acquisition through two CXP-10 links..

FAQ

How does lamp count change MV-CL084-91CM-PRO line rate?

In 80-bit operation the ceiling is 75 kHz with control disabled or 1 lamp, 50 kHz with 2 lamps, 33 kHz with 3 lamps and 25 kHz with 4 lamps. More lighting states therefore reduce the line rate available for each sequence.

Which sensor and scan modes make the PRO version different?

MV-CL084-91CM-PRO uses an 8192 × 16 mono CMOS sensor with 5 µm pixels. It supports 1-line, 2-TDI and 4-TDI as well as 2-lamp, 3-lamp and 4-lamp control, whereas MV-CL084-91CM uses an 8192 × 4 array.

What electrical supply is required by MV-CL084-91CM-PRO?

This model requires 24 V DC and has typical consumption of 22.9 W at 24 V DC. Power and four configurable I/O lines use the 12-pin P10 connector, and the I/O can operate with single-ended or differential signals.

Which lens interface covers the MV-CL084-91CM-PRO line?

The camera provides an M72*0.75 mount with a 12 mm flange back length. F-mount optics may be attached through an adapter, and the lens must cover all 8192 pixels while resolving the 5 µm pitch.

What mechanical and thermal allowance does the PRO housing need?

The body measures 84 mm × 84 mm × 89 mm, weighs about 900 g and operates from -20 °C to 60 °C. Its IP40 rating assumes proper lens installation and wiring, and the typical 22.9 W draw must be included in thermal planning.

Is USB the acquisition path for MV-CL084-91CM-PRO?

No. Image transfer uses Camera Link through an SDR connector. USB is listed for firmware updating. The acquisition system must use a Camera Link cable and receiver able to handle the selected Base, Medium, Full or 80-bit multi-light mode.
