Mono motion capture and neighbours

Mono 8 acquisition at 312.9 fps makes MV-CS004-11GM a timing-oriented machine-vision camera. The Sony® IMX287 CMOS sensor has a global shutter, 720 × 540 resolution, 6.9 µm pixels and a 1/2.9-inch optical format. Gigabit Ethernet carries the image stream, while exposure from 1 µs to 10 sec gives the integrator a wide adjustment range. Spatial detail is deliberately limited to 0.4 MP in exchange for rapid full-frame sampling.

The mono output is suited to presence, silhouette, edge-position and count decisions where color is not part of the acceptance rule. Global exposure preserves the outline of parts crossing the camera view, and the 312.9 fps rate can record several observations during a short machine action. PoE supports a shared data-and-power connection; the 6-pin P7 port adds isolated input and output together with a bidirectional I/O line.

Choose MV-CS004-11GC when the same 312.9 fps GigE format must retain color information. MV-CS004-10UC raises the color rate to 526.5 fps but changes the interface to USB 3.0 and shortens the body from 42 mm to 30 mm. MV-CS004-10GC remains a color GigE alternative at 125.2 fps. MV-CS004-11GM is the direct fit when mono contrast, IMX287 timing and PoE belong in one station.

Selection and applications

Mono presence checks at 312.9 fps. Global-shutter edge and silhouette inspection. PoE acquisition synchronized through camera I/O.

Minimum kit: MV-CS004-11GM, a C-mount lens, a Gigabit Ethernet cable, and PoE or a separate 9–24 V DC supply.

Nearby in the range: MV-CS004-11GC — Prefer it when Bayer RG 8 color is needed at the same 312.9 fps.; MV-CS004-10UC — Prefer it for 526.5 fps color capture over USB 3.0.; MV-CS013-80GM — Prefer it for 1280 × 1024 mono imaging at 89.9 fps..

FAQ

Which tasks benefit from the Mono 8 output of this model?

Mono 8 is appropriate when the decision depends on intensity, shape or edge position rather than hue. At 720 × 540 and 312.9 fps, the camera can support rapid presence checks, counting and position tracking with a global shutter.

How does MV-CS004-11GM differ from MV-CS004-11GC in output?

Both use the Sony® IMX287, Gigabit Ethernet, 720 × 540 resolution and a 312.9 fps ceiling. MV-CS004-11GM outputs Mono 8, whereas MV-CS004-11GC outputs Bayer RG 8 color, so the choice follows the image information required by the inspection.

Can one Ethernet connection handle both data and power?

Yes. The camera supports PoE on its Gigabit Ethernet connection. It can instead use 9–24 V DC through the 6-pin P7 connector, and typical consumption is 2.2 W at 12 V DC.

Which electrical I/O lines are available for machine coordination?

The 6-pin P7 connector provides one opto-isolated input, one opto-isolated output and one bidirectional non-isolated I/O. Those lines give the station controller physical points for coordinating image capture with part arrival or machine state.

Which lens and enclosure conditions apply to MV-CS004-11GM?

Fit a C-mount lens that covers the 1/2.9-inch sensor. The camera body measures 29 mm × 29 mm × 42 mm, weighs approximately 100 g and is rated IP40 with correct lens installation and wiring.
