Wide color frames in a compact USB body

A 1920 × 1200 Bayer RG 8 image from the Sony® IMX249 defines MV-CS023-10UC. The 1/1.2-inch CMOS sensor has 5.86 µm pixels, a global shutter and a 41 fps maximum rate over USB 3.0. With 2.3 MP in a 29 mm × 29 mm × 30 mm body, the camera gives a host-side station the widest color frame in this group while keeping the optical mount and enclosure compact.

Broad assemblies, printed color areas, labels and several inspection regions can share one frame when the scene is mapped across 1920 × 1200. The global shutter maintains moving geometry, and exposure from 15 µs to 10 sec covers production motion as well as slower observation. USB can provide 5 V DC power, while the P7 connection supports a separate 9–24 V DC supply and three I/O lines for external timing.

MV-CS023-10UM is the Mono 8 USB counterpart at the same resolution, 41 fps, sensor format and body size. MV-CS023-10GC keeps Bayer RG 8 color and the IMX249 but changes to Gigabit Ethernet with PoE in a 42 mm-deep housing. MV-CS020-10UC moves to the 1/1.7-inch IMX430, reduces the frame to 1624 × 1240 and raises speed to 90 fps. Choose MV-CS023-10UC when color detail and the 1920-pixel width outweigh the need for a higher frame rate.

Selection and applications

Wide color inspection at 2.3 MP. Global-shutter IMX249 capture at 41 fps. Compact USB imaging at 1920 × 1200.

Minimum kit: MV-CS023-10UC, a C-mount lens for the 1/1.2-inch sensor, and a USB 3.0 cable supplying 5 V DC power, or a separate 9–24 V DC source.

Nearby in the range: MV-CS023-10UM — Prefer it for Mono 8 output at the same 1920 × 1200 and 41 fps.; MV-CS023-10GC — Prefer it for IMX249 color over Gigabit Ethernet with PoE.; MV-CS020-10UC — Prefer it for IMX430 color at 1624 × 1240 and 90 fps..

FAQ

What scene coverage can use the 1920 × 1200 color frame?

The frame can place a broad assembly or multiple visible regions within one 2.3 MP image. Actual coverage depends on the C-mount lens, which must cover the 1/1.2-inch IMX249 and map the scene onto 5.86 µm pixels.

How is the 41 fps color stream transferred and powered?

USB 3.0 transports the 1920 × 1200 Bayer RG 8 images and can provide 5 V DC camera power. Typical use is 1.6 W, and a separate 9–24 V DC feed is also supported through the P7 connector.

Which exposure and gain ranges are provided on the color model?

Exposure is adjustable from 15 µs to 10 sec, and gain runs from 0 dB to 24 dB. Together with the global shutter, the shorter exposure settings can constrain motion displacement when the scene is adequately illuminated.

How does MV-CS023-10UC differ from the GigE color version?

Both use the IMX249 at 1920 × 1200 Bayer RG 8 and 41 fps. MV-CS023-10UC uses USB 3.0, is 30 mm deep and weighs about 78 g; MV-CS023-10GC uses Gigabit Ethernet with PoE, is 42 mm deep and weighs about 100 g.

What environmental envelope applies to the compact housing?

The IP40 body operates from –30 °C to 60 °C and stores from –30 °C to 80 °C. Humidity is specified from 20% RH to 95% RH without condensation, with correct lens installation and wiring for the ingress rating.
