High-speed monochrome USB inspection

Mono 8 capture at 201.4 fps is the central capability of MV-CU013-A0UM. The 1280 × 1024 image comes from a 1/2-inch global-shutter CMOS sensor with 4.8 µm pixels and 53 dB dynamic range. USB 3.0 carries the data, and exposure is adjustable from 5 µs to 10 sec with gain from 0 dB to 16 dB.

This combination is suited to rapid edge, profile and presence analysis where color is unnecessary. Global exposure keeps moving geometry consistent, while the high update rate supports closely spaced events. USB 3.0 can power the 1.79 W camera at 5 V DC. For machine timing, the 6-pin P7 connection includes an isolated input, an isolated output and a bidirectional non-isolated I/O.

MV-CU013-A0UC retains the same sensor geometry and 201.4 fps but adds Bayer GB 8 color. MV-CU013-A0GM keeps Mono 8 at 1280 × 1024 and changes to Gigabit Ethernet at 91.3 fps in a 42 mm-deep body. MV-CU013-80GM uses smaller 4.0 µm pixels on a 1/2.7-inch sensor and runs at 89.9 fps. A0UM fits a direct USB architecture that needs monochrome speed and 4.8 µm pixels.

Selection and applications

High-rate monochrome edge analysis. Moving profile inspection. Direct USB presence checks.

Minimum kit: Combine the camera with a C-mount lens for the 1/2-inch format and a USB 3.0 cable supplying 5 V DC, or provide 9–24 V DC separately.

Nearby in the range: MV-CU013-A0UC — Choose it when Bayer GB 8 color is needed at the same 201.4 fps.; MV-CU013-A0GM — Choose it for Mono 8 at 91.3 fps over Gigabit Ethernet.; MV-CU013-80GM — Choose it for the smaller 1/2.7-inch SS sensor and 4.0 µm pixels..

FAQ

Why use MV-CU013-A0UM for high-rate edge or profile analysis?

It supplies Mono 8 data at 1280 × 1024 and up to 201.4 fps, so each pixel directly represents intensity for edge or profile processing. The global shutter exposes the full CMOS frame together when the object moves.

What exposure range is available for fast and stationary targets?

Exposure extends from 5 µs to 10 sec. The short end can limit motion blur with sufficient illumination, while the long end addresses stationary acquisitions requiring more integration. Gain is adjustable from 0 dB to 16 dB.

Does MV-CU013-A0UM require a dedicated camera power cable?

Not necessarily. USB 3.0 power is supported, and typical consumption is 1.79 W at 5 V DC. The camera also accepts 9–24 V DC, which provides an alternative when the machine uses a separate supply.

How should the lens be sized for the A0UM optical format?

The camera accepts C-mount optics and uses a 1/2-inch sensor with 4.8 µm pixels. The chosen lens should cover that image circle and provide the scene coverage needed across the 1280 × 1024 active grid.

Which housing limits matter when mounting MV-CU013-A0UM?

The housing is 29 mm × 29 mm × 30 mm, weighs about 76 g and carries an IP30 rating with correct lens installation and wiring. Operation is specified from 0 °C to 50 °C and 20–95% RH non-condensing.
