Mono GigE tasks, optics and alternatives

Intensity-based inspection at 1280 × 1024 is the focus of MV-CU013-A0GM. Its 1/2-inch CMOS sensor uses 4.8 µm pixels, global shutter exposure and Mono 8 output at up to 91.3 fps. The camera sends images over Gigabit Ethernet, spans 10 µs to 10 sec exposure and provides 54 dB dynamic range with 0–16 dB gain.

Edge location, silhouette analysis and presence checks on moving parts can use the monochrome response without color interpolation. A global shutter supports consistent object geometry, and the lower exposure limit helps contain blur under suitable lighting. The 29 mm × 29 mm × 42 mm housing has C-mount optics, optional PoE and a 6-pin P7 connector for one isolated input, one isolated output and one bidirectional I/O.

MV-CU013-A0GC is the direct color counterpart, retaining the 1/2-inch sensor, 91.3 fps and GigE interface. MV-CU013-A0UM holds Mono 8 and the same resolution but reaches 201.4 fps over USB 3.0 in a 30 mm-deep housing. MV-CU013-80GM shifts to a 1/2.7-inch SS sensor with 4.0 µm pixels at 89.9 fps. Choose A0GM for Mono GigE with the larger pixel pitch.

Selection and applications

Monochrome edge localisation. Shape checks on moving parts. GigE inspection with hardware timing.

Minimum kit: Fit a C-mount lens covering the 1/2-inch sensor, connect Gigabit Ethernet, and supply optional PoE or 9–24 V DC to the camera.

Nearby in the range: MV-CU013-A0GC — Prefer it when Bayer GB 8 color is needed at the same 91.3 fps.; MV-CU013-A0UM — Prefer it for Mono 8 at 201.4 fps through USB 3.0.; MV-CU013-80GM — Prefer it for a smaller 1/2.7-inch sensor with 4.0 µm pixels..

FAQ

What inspection information is retained in A0GM Mono 8 frames?

The camera returns an 8-bit monochrome intensity image at 1280 × 1024 and up to 91.3 fps. This format directly supports decisions based on edges, brightness, shape or silhouette when color separation is not part of the inspection.

How do shutter and exposure settings address component motion?

The CMOS sensor has a global shutter, and exposure ranges from 10 µs to 10 sec. The 10 µs lower bound can reduce blur with sufficient illumination, while the maximum frame rate of 91.3 fps sets the full-frame update ceiling.

What lens coverage is appropriate for MV-CU013-A0GM?

Use a C-mount lens whose image circle covers a 1/2-inch sensor. The imaging pitch is 4.8 µm × 4.8 µm at 1280 × 1024, so scene coverage and magnification should be selected around that sampling geometry.

Which power and cabling schemes can the GigE model use?

MV-CU013-A0GM accepts 9–24 V DC and has optional PoE. Typical draw is 1.8 W at 12 V DC. A Gigabit Ethernet cable carries data, while Fast Ethernet operation is also listed for the interface.

What protection and signal connections are built into A0GM?

The camera is IP30 with correct lens installation and wiring. Its 6-pin P7 connection includes one opto-isolated input, one opto-isolated output and one bidirectional non-isolated I/O; operation is specified from 0 °C to 50 °C.
