Hikrobot MV-CU050-90UM

High-resolution Mono 8 at 59.8 fps

A 2600 × 2160 Mono 8 stream at 59.8 fps makes MV-CU050-90UM the faster high-resolution monochrome option in the group. The 1/2-inch GMAX2505 CMOS sensor uses 2.5 µm pixels and global-shutter timing. USB 3.0 carries the image data, while exposure spans 3 µs to 10 sec and the listed dynamic range is 63.9 dB.

Fine edge, profile and moving assembly-feature inspection can use the dense intensity image without color interpolation. The global shutter supports consistent geometry, and the 3 µs lower exposure setting helps limit blur when illumination permits. USB 3.0 can supply power at a typical 2.1 W and 5 V DC; three P7 I/O paths provide isolated input, isolated output and bidirectional signalling.

MV-CU050-90UC is the color counterpart with the same GMAX2505, resolution, dimensions and 59.8 fps. MV-CU050-90GM retains Mono 8 and the 2600 × 2160 grid but changes to Gigabit Ethernet at 21 fps in a 47.6 mm-deep housing. MV-CU050-60UM uses 2592 × 1944, rolling shutter and 48.2 fps. Select 90UM for global-shutter monochrome detail at the higher USB full-frame rate.

Selection and applications

Fine monochrome profile measurement. Global-shutter moving-feature checks. High-resolution USB edge capture.

Minimum kit: Use the camera with a C-mount lens covering the 1/2-inch sensor and a USB 3.0 cable supplying 5 V DC, or connect 9–24 V DC separately.

Nearby in the range: MV-CU050-90UC — Choose it when Bayer BG 8 color is needed at the same 59.8 fps.; MV-CU050-90GM — Choose it for Mono 8 over Gigabit Ethernet at 21 fps.; MV-CU050-60UM — Choose it for 2592 × 1944 rolling-shutter Mono 8 at 48.2 fps..

FAQ

Why use MV-CU050-90UM for fine monochrome measurement?

It produces 2600 × 2160 Mono 8 frames from 2.5 µm pixels at up to 59.8 fps. This dense intensity grid supports edge, profile and assembly-feature calculations without the color sampling used by 90UC.

How does the global shutter address motion at 5.6 MP?

The GMAX2505 exposes the full frame with global timing, supporting consistent geometry on moving parts. Exposure can start at 3 µs under sufficient lighting, and the full-resolution update ceiling is 59.8 fps.

Can MV-CU050-90UM operate from the USB 3.0 power feed?

Yes. USB 3.0 power is supported and typical draw is 2.1 W at 5 V DC. A separate 9–24 V DC input is also listed, allowing the power route to follow either the host or machine connection.

Which optical format must a lens cover for the 90UM?

The camera takes a C-mount lens for a 1/2-inch GMAX2505 sensor. The lens should resolve the required object detail over 2600 × 2160, with the 2.5 µm pitch and scene coverage defining object sampling.

What mounting envelope and environmental limits apply?

The 94 g enclosure measures 29 mm × 29 mm × 35.6 mm and is IP30 with proper lens installation and wiring. Operation is specified from 0 °C to 50 °C at 20–80% RH without condensation.
