Applications and positioning
Colour imaging at 3072 × 2048 is provided by the 1/1.8-inch Sony IMX178 CMOS sensor, combining 2.4 µm pixels with a rolling shutter and 19.1 fps output over Gigabit Ethernet. MV-CU060-10GC suits inspection stations where six-megapixel spatial detail and colour separation matter more than freezing rapid motion. Its 71.3 dB dynamic range and exposure span from 52 µs to 10 sec give useful adjustment latitude for controlled lighting.
The camera fits component-presence checks, print and label verification, surface-colour comparison, and dimensional imaging of stationary or indexed parts. A 29 mm × 29 mm front face and C-mount support compact optical assemblies. Gigabit Ethernet can carry images over a network link, while optional PoE or a 9 V DC to 24 V DC input gives two power-integration routes. The three I/O lines support a sensor, strobe, or reject signal.
MV-CU060-10GM keeps the same Sony IMX178 sensor, 3072 × 2048 resolution, 19.1 fps rate, and Gigabit Ethernet interface in a 29 mm × 29 mm × 42 mm body. MV-CU060-10UC retains colour and the Sony IMX178 but raises full-resolution output to 59.6 fps through USB 3.0; choose it when the host is close and cycle time is tighter. MV-CU060-60GC stays near the same resolution class at 3200 × 1944 and 19 fps, but uses a smaller 1/2.4-inch BSI sensor.

Selection and applications
Colour verification of indexed parts. Stationary surface and print inspection. Six-megapixel networked image capture.
Minimum kit: The minimum setup is MV-CU060-10GC, a 1/1.8-inch-compatible C-mount lens, a Gigabit Ethernet cable, and either optional PoE or a 9 V DC to 24 V DC supply through the P7 connection.
Nearby in the range: MV-CU060-10UC — Prefer it for 59.6 fps colour capture over USB 3.0 at 3072 × 2048.; MV-CU060-10GM — Prefer it for its 1.7 W typical consumption at 12 V DC on the 3072 × 2048 Sony IMX178 GigE platform.; MV-CU120-10GC — Prefer it when 4024 × 3036 colour detail outweighs the reduction to 9.7 fps..

FAQ
Which optical format should be covered for MV-CU060-10GC?
Select a C-mount lens whose image circle covers the camera's 1/1.8-inch sensor and whose resolving power suits 2.4 µm pixels. Focal length then follows the required field of view and working distance; the camera body presents a 29 mm × 29 mm front face for a compact lens assembly.
Can MV-CU060-10GC receive power through its network cable?
PoE is optional, so a configured PoE installation can combine network data and power. The alternative is 9 V DC to 24 V DC through the 6-pin P7 connection. Typical consumption is 1.72 W at 12 V DC, which should be included in the supply and thermal calculation.
What does the rolling shutter imply for inspection timing?
The Sony IMX178 uses a rolling shutter, so rows are exposed at different instants. This is suitable for stationary scenes or indexed parts held during exposure. Where geometry must be preserved on continuously moving targets, compare a global-shutter model such as MV-CU020-90GC.
How is MV-CU060-10GC integrated with triggers and lighting?
The 6-pin P7 connector provides one opto-isolated input, one opto-isolated output, and one bidirectional non-isolated I/O line. These lines allow the acquisition cycle to be tied to a part sensor and an external illumination or downstream machine signal.
What environmental limits apply to the colour GigE body?
The operating range is 0 °C to 50 °C with 20% to 95% RH, non-condensing. The enclosure is rated IP30 when the lens and wiring are installed correctly, so the installation should control dust and moisture rather than treating the camera as a sealed shop-floor device.
