Longer-standoff, wide-field profiling
A 141 mm working distance separates MV-DP2140 from the shorter-standoff models in the same height class. Its 26 mm Z range is paired with a 97.5 mm reference field, widening from 91 mm near to 104 mm far. The 3200-point profile, 6.38 to 7.09 µm Z resolution and 2.07 µm repeatability support broad contour measurement at 3.3 to 23.9 kHz.
This combination fits width, edge and height checks where the sensor must stand clear of a broad moving target. Gigabit Ethernet carries the profile stream, and the 12-pin M12 interface provides 24 VDC power plus isolated and differential timing I/O. An IP67 housing and 0 to 45 °C working interval define the environmental boundary for line-side use.
MV-DP2140 shares a 26 mm Z range with MV-DP2060 but expands the reference field from 31 to 97.5 mm and moves the working distance from 63.5 to 141 mm; MV-DP2060 instead provides 0.49 µm repeatability. MV-DP2080 sits between them at a 62.9 mm field and 80.2 mm distance. Choose MV-DP2140 when standoff and lateral coverage outweigh the finer repeatability of the narrower models.
Overview
A DP2000 series laser profiler — the base class: the sensor projects a laser line across the part and measures height at every point of the section, up to 3200 points per profile.
Working distance 141 mm, measurement range 26 mm.
Used where a profile is needed rather than a picture: weld bead control, adhesive bead height, gap and flush, warpage, parcel volume. Data goes to VM3D or 3DMVS, and to third-party software over a standard protocol.

Selection and applications
Wide-part contour measurement across a 97.5 mm reference field. Height and edge inspection through a 26 mm Z range. Longer-standoff profile capture up to 23.9 kHz.
Minimum kit: MV-DP2140, a Gigabit Ethernet cable, a 12-pin M12 power and I/O cable, a 24 VDC supply, and a 3DMVS, VM3D or third-party software host form the minimum acquisition kit.
Nearby in the range: MV-DP2060 — Prefer it for the same 26 mm Z class with a 31 mm reference field and 0.49 µm repeatability.; MV-DP2080 — Prefer it for a 62.9 mm reference field at the shorter 80.2 mm working distance..

FAQ
How does the MV-DP2140 field width change across its Z envelope?
The X field is 91 mm at the near boundary, 97.5 mm at the reference distance and 104 mm at the far boundary. These widths apply through a 26 mm Z range around the 141 mm working distance and should frame the complete part path.
What profile density and height performance does MV-DP2140 offer?
Each profile has 3200 points, with X resolution from 29.2 to 33.2 µm. Z resolution is 6.38 to 7.09 µm, and repeatability is stated as 2.07 µm from gauge-block testing on an optical platform.
Which acquisition rates can MV-DP2140 use on a moving line?
The high-frame-rate range is 3.3 to 23.9 kHz. Selection within that range sets the longitudinal spacing of profiles for a given motion rate, while the 3200 samples across X remain available for every profile.
What electrical connections are required to integrate MV-DP2140?
Measurement data uses 1000 Mbit/s Gigabit Ethernet and can also operate with 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet. A 12-pin M12 interface supplies 24 VDC and carries two isolated inputs, two differential inputs and one differential output.
What are the mechanical and environmental limits of MV-DP2140?
The IP67 housing measures 158 × 93 × 53 mm and weighs approximately 900 g. Its operating interval is 0 to 45 °C, its storage interval is -30 to 80 °C, and humidity is specified from 20 to 85% RH without condensation.
Which software can receive the 3200-point MV-DP2140 profiles?
The listed choices are 3DMVS, VM3D and third-party software. All receive measurements through the Gigabit Ethernet interface, so the processing host should be matched to the selected acquisition rate within 3.3 to 23.9 kHz.
