Long-standoff scanning for very large profiles
A 905 mm Z envelope at a 947.5 mm working distance defines MV-DP3900 as a long-standoff, large-field profiler. Its X coverage expands from 270 mm near through 495 mm at reference to 720 mm far. Every profile contains 3200 points; Z resolution ranges from 23.04 to 185.06 µm, repeatability is 8.12 µm, and scan rate reaches 46.7 kHz.
This volume supports height, shape and edge acquisition on very large moving objects while leaving nearly a metre to the reference plane. Gigabit Ethernet carries the profile stream, and a 12-pin M12 connection supplies 24 VDC with isolated and differential timing I/O. The IP67 enclosure works from 0 to 45 °C and measures 275.6 × 118.5 × 57 mm.
MV-DP3900 is close in volume to MV-DP2900, which offers a 910 mm Z range and the same 720 mm far field but reaches 23.9 kHz with 6.59 µm repeatability. MV-DP4940 covers 900 mm along Z, increases profile density to 4080 points and reaches 49 kHz in ROI mode. Select MV-DP3900 for the 3200-point, 46.7 kHz configuration; choose MV-DP4940 when point count leads.
Overview
A DP3000 series laser profiler — the mid class: the same 3200 points per profile at twice the scan rate, up to 46.7 kHz.
Working distance 947.5 mm, measurement range 905 mm.
Used where a profile is needed rather than a picture: weld bead control, adhesive bead height, gap and flush, warpage, parcel volume. Data goes to VM3D or 3DMVS, and to third-party software over a standard protocol.

Selection and applications
Very large height measurement through a 905 mm Z range. Long-standoff contour capture across a 495 mm reference field. High-rate 3200-point profiling up to 46.7 kHz.
Minimum kit: MV-DP3900, a Gigabit Ethernet cable, a 12-pin M12 power and I/O cable, a 24 VDC supply, and a 3DMVS, VM3D or third-party software host form the minimum acquisition kit.
Nearby in the range: MV-DP2900 — Prefer it for a 910 mm Z range and 6.59 µm repeatability when 23.9 kHz is sufficient.; MV-DP4940 — Prefer it for 4080-point profiles and a 49 kHz ROI maximum over a 900 mm Z range..

FAQ
What are the near, reference and far field widths of MV-DP3900?
Across the 905 mm Z range, X coverage expands from 270 mm near to 495 mm at the 947.5 mm reference distance and 720 mm far. Those three planes define the available width for a large target and its surrounding fixtures.
What spatial resolution does MV-DP3900 provide over its large volume?
The 3200-point profile has an X interval from 86 to 268 µm. Z resolution ranges from 23.04 to 185.06 µm, and repeatability is stated as 8.12 µm under gauge-block testing on an optical platform.
What profile rates can MV-DP3900 deliver for moving-line scanning?
High-frame-rate operation spans 3.4 to 46.7 kHz. That upper rate can support closer longitudinal profile spacing at a given motion speed, while every scan continues to provide 3200 points across the X field.
Which line connections carry MV-DP3900 data, power and I/O?
Data uses 1000 Mbit/s Gigabit Ethernet with 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet compatibility. The 12-pin M12 connection carries a 24 VDC supply and provides two isolated inputs, two differential inputs and one differential output.
What mechanical load and ambient range should the MV-DP3900 mount handle?
The sensor measures 275.6 × 118.5 × 57 mm and weighs approximately 1780 g. Its enclosure is IP67, the operating range is 0 to 45 °C, storage is -30 to 80 °C, and humidity is 20 to 85% RH without condensation.
Which software can accept profiles generated by MV-DP3900?
3DMVS, VM3D and third-party software are listed for measurement processing. Profiles are transferred over the Gigabit Ethernet link, and the host should be sized for 3200 points per scan at the selected rate up to 46.7 kHz.
