Micrometre profiling in a 5.2 mm envelope

A 5.2 mm Z range and 0.15 µm repeatability make MV-DP4020-01P the shallowest, finest-repeatability profiler in the lineup. It works at a 22.6 mm reference distance, where the X field is 14 mm and changes only from 13.5 to 14.5 mm through Z. Each profile has 4080 points, with 0.41 to 0.58 µm Z resolution.

The compact volume and 3.3 to 3.9 µm profile interval suit very fine step, edge and surface-height checks. Full-range acquisition runs at 2.5 kHz, while ROI mode reaches 49 kHz for a restricted measurement window. Software or differential-encoder hardware triggering coordinates motion, and Gigabit Ethernet transfers profile, depth and brightness outputs.

MV-DP4020-01P is narrower and shallower than MV-DP2020, which covers 6.8 mm along Z with 3200 points and 0.22 µm repeatability at a 21.4 mm distance. MV-DP4060-01P keeps 4080 points and the 49 kHz maximum but expands the Z range to 21 mm and the reference field to 32 mm, with 0.36 µm repeatability. Select MV-DP4020-01P for the smallest measurement envelope.

Selection and applications

Fine step measurement with 0.15 µm repeatability. 4080-point surface profiling across a 14 mm reference field. ROI-based contour acquisition at up to 49 kHz.

Minimum kit: MV-DP4020-01P, a Gigabit Ethernet cable, a 12-pin M12 power and I/O cable, and a 24 VDC supply form the minimum acquisition kit.

Nearby in the range: MV-DP2020 — Prefer it for a 6.8 mm Z range and 3200-point profiles at rates up to 23.9 kHz.; MV-DP4060-01P — Prefer it when the Z range must expand to 21 mm and the reference field to 32 mm..

FAQ

What target volume fits the short-range MV-DP4020-01P geometry?

The Z measurement range is 5.2 mm around a 22.6 mm reference distance. X coverage is 13.5 mm near, 14 mm at reference and 14.5 mm far, defining a narrow and shallow envelope for the target and fixture.

What resolution and repeatability are stated for MV-DP4020-01P?

The sensor states 0.15 µm Z repeatability and 0.41 to 0.58 µm Z resolution. Its 4080-point profile has a transverse interval from 3.3 to 3.9 µm across the 13.5 to 14.5 mm X field.

When does MV-DP4020-01P reach the 49 kHz scan rate?

The full-range scan rate is 2.5 kHz, and the maximum in ROI mode is 49 kHz. The higher value therefore applies when the active measurement region can be reduced for the fine feature and motion being inspected.

What outputs and trigger choices are available from MV-DP4020-01P?

The sensor outputs profile data, depth images and brightness images. It supports software trigger and differential-encoder hardware trigger, allowing the 4080-point profiles to be tied to the acquisition sequence or machine motion.

How are data, power and machine I/O connected on MV-DP4020-01P?

Data uses 1000 Mbit/s Gigabit Ethernet with 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet compatibility. A 12-pin M12 interface carries 24 VDC and provides three differential inputs, one differential output and one RS-232 channel. Consumption is 20.6 W.

What environmental and physical limits apply to MV-DP4020-01P?

The IP67 housing measures 129 × 125 × 69 mm and weighs 1330 g. It works from 0 to 45 °C, stores from -30 to 80 °C and accepts 20 to 85% RH. The laser source is 405 nm and Class 3B.
