Higher sampling within the SC1000 group

A 1024 × 768 mono image distinguishes MV-SC1008M within the compact SC1000 sensors. Its 1/5-inch CMOS device has 2.7 µm pixels, global-shutter exposure and a maximum rate of 15 fps. The image path uses a 4.9 mm focal length and M5 mount, while adjustable exposure from 60 µs to 7000 µs and integrated white LED light establish a self-contained arrangement for controlled, moderate-speed inspection.

The sensor can measure contrast, grayscale size, widths, brightness, angles and diameter, then combine those results with spot, edge, contour, circle and line existence tools. It also counts spots, edges and contours and provides category recognition plus fixture location. A cross laser aids alignment. Communication runs over 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet, while the green terminal combines power, one trigger input, one result output and RS-232.

MV-SC1003M offers the same mono response, global shutter and 15 fps ceiling but records 640 × 480 through 3.1 mm optics; MV-SC1008M is the choice when the 1024 × 768 grid and 4.9 mm focal length better resolve the target. MV-SC1003C also stays at 640 × 480 and 15 fps, but changes to color. For faster mono acquisition, MV-SC2005AM-02WBN V3.0 reaches 100 fps at 800 × 600.

Selection and applications

Fine mono edge inspection. Contour and spot counting. Laser-aided sensor alignment.

Minimum kit: The operating set consists of MV-SC1008M with its 4.9 mm M5-mount optics, integrated white LED, a Fast Ethernet cable, terminal wiring and a 12–24 V DC supply.

Nearby in the range: MV-SC1003M — Use it when 640 × 480 mono capture and 3.1 mm optics cover the task.; MV-SC1003C — Select it when the same 15 fps class must add color processing.; MV-SC2005AM-02WBN V3.0 — Prefer it for 100 fps mono capture across a fixed 170 × 130 mm view..

FAQ

Where does the extra sampling of MV-SC1008M affect selection?

MV-SC1008M records 1024 × 768 pixels with a 2.7 µm pitch. That grid provides more sample points across an edge or contour than the 640 × 480 SC1003 variants, while all three retain the same stated maximum of 15 fps.

How are moving targets exposed by the MV-SC1008M imager?

A global shutter exposes its 1024 × 768 mono frame simultaneously. Exposure can be set from 60 µs to 7000 µs, while acquisition reaches 15 fps; exposure is chosen around motion and available light, and the frame-rate ceiling sets the maximum acquisition cadence.

What aiming and optical hardware does MV-SC1008M include?

The optical system uses a 4.9 mm focal length on an M5 mount for the 1/5-inch sensor. Illumination is a white LED, while a cross laser supplies the aiming reference. Field coverage should be evaluated with that fixed optical combination.

Can MV-SC1008M exchange both network and discrete results?

Yes. It communicates over 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet and its green terminal includes one Line 0 input, one Line 1 output and one RS-232 port in addition to power. The top trigger button provides a local trigger method.

What environmental envelope applies to the MV-SC1008M body?

The 38 × 38 × 19 mm head is rated IP54 and weighs approximately 40 g without cable. Its working range is 0 °C to 50 °C, storage range is −30 °C to 70 °C, and humidity allowance is 20% RH to 95% RH without condensation.
