High-rate colour inspection in SC6000

Colour acquisition up to 120 fps defines MV-SC6016C. Its 1/2.53-inch CMOS global-shutter sensor uses 3.45 µm pixels. Resolution is 1408 × 1024 for the C-mount configuration and 1408 × 1204 for the mechanical configuration. Exposure begins at 16 µs, supporting short, synchronised captures on rapid processes.

The camera suits colour-based presence, orientation and marking checks on moving products where cycle time dominates over a large pixel count. Vision Master Platform provides deep-learning OCR, object recognition and defect detection. A 17-pin M12 connection exposes two isolated inputs, two isolated outputs, two configurable non-isolated lines, RS-232 and a light-source output rated to 30 W for coordinating capture and illumination.

MV-SC6016M keeps the 120 fps rate and 1408 × 1024 frame but records mono images. MV-SC6050C increases colour resolution to 2432 × 2048 while reducing the maximum to 80 fps, fitting a denser inspection at a slower cycle. MV-SC5020XC sits between their rates at 100 fps with a 1600 × 1216 colour frame and uses a 12-pin rather than 17-pin M12 power and I/O connection.

Selection and applications

Colour inspection on rapid conveyor cycles. Embedded recognition at up to 120 fps. Synchronous capture with external light control.

Minimum kit: Use the C-mount form of MV-SC6016C with a suitable C-mount lens, a Gigabit Ethernet cable, a 17-pin M12 power and I/O cable, external lighting if needed, and a 24 VDC supply.

Nearby in the range: MV-SC6016M — Prefer it for mono imaging at 1408 × 1024 and the same 120 fps ceiling.; MV-SC6050C — Prefer it for 2432 × 2048 colour capture when 80 fps meets the cycle.; MV-SC5020XC — Prefer it for a 1600 × 1216 colour frame at up to 100 fps..

FAQ

Which resolution applies to each MV-SC6016C optical form?

The C-mount form is listed at 1408 × 1024, while the mechanical form is listed at 1408 × 1204. Both belong to the same colour, global-shutter family with acquisition up to 120 fps and exposure from 16 µs to 1 sec.

How does the 120 fps rate suit conveyor synchronisation?

The global shutter captures the sensor together, exposure can be reduced to 16 µs, and acquisition reaches 120 fps. That timing combination supports repeated colour inspection of moving products when the trigger and lighting are coordinated with the machine cycle.

What signals are available on the 17-pin M12 connector?

The connector carries power and I/O with two opto-isolated inputs, two opto-isolated outputs, two configurable non-isolated input/output lines and one RS-232 channel. It also provides one external light-source output with a 30 W maximum.

Which software functions can run before a result is sent?

The VM Platform supports the stated AI deep-learning algorithms for OCR, object recognition and defect detection. Results can travel over 1000 Mbit/s Gigabit Ethernet using PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus, TCP, UDP or the other listed protocols.

What power envelope and ambient limits apply to this camera?

The supply is 24 VDC. Consumption is approximately 12 W without an external light and approximately 42 W with one. Operation is listed from 0 °C to 50 °C, and IP67 depends on correct fitting of the waterproof lens cap.
