Colour resolution for medium-fast lines

A 2432 × 2048 colour image at up to 80 fps gives MV-SC6050C a resolution-and-speed point between the SC6000 high-rate and high-detail models. The 1/1.45-inch CMOS sensor has 3.45 µm pixels, global shutter and exposure from 16 µs to 1 sec. C-mount optics leave field-of-view selection to the station design, and VM Platform runs OCR, object recognition and defect detection in the camera.

The combination fits colour-sensitive assembly checks, label verification and defect inspection on moving products where a 1408 × 1024 image is too limited but 40 fps is not enough. Two isolated inputs, two isolated outputs and two configurable non-isolated lines support timing and result exchange. The 17-pin M12 connection also includes RS-232 and an external light output rated to 30 W.

MV-SC6016C raises the ceiling to 120 fps but uses 1408 × 1024 in its C-mount form, favouring line rate. MV-SC6120C provides 4096 × 2944 at 40 fps when spatial detail has priority. MV-SC6050M keeps 2432 × 2048 and 80 fps in mono, so it is the paired choice for inspections based on intensity, edges or geometry rather than colour.

Selection and applications

Colour assembly inspection at up to 80 fps. On-camera defect recognition at 2432 × 2048. Triggered inspection with external illumination.

Minimum kit: Pair MV-SC6050C with a C-mount lens covering its 1/1.45-inch sensor, external illumination as needed, a Gigabit Ethernet cable, a 17-pin M12 power and I/O cable, and a 24 VDC supply.

Nearby in the range: MV-SC6016C — Prefer it for colour capture up to 120 fps at a lower image resolution.; MV-SC6120C — Prefer it for 4096 × 2944 colour frames when 40 fps meets the process.; MV-SC6050M — Prefer it for mono output at the same 2432 × 2048 and 80 fps..

FAQ

How does MV-SC6050C balance image size and acquisition rate?

It records 2432 × 2048 colour frames at up to 80 fps. In the SC6000 comparison, MV-SC6016C reaches 120 fps at 1408 × 1024 in C-mount form, while MV-SC6120C reaches 4096 × 2944 at 40 fps.

What exposure behaviour supports inspection of moving products?

The CMOS sensor uses a global shutter and permits exposure from 16 µs to 1 sec. Short exposure and acquisition up to 80 fps support triggered capture on a moving line, provided the illumination supplies enough light for the selected timing.

Which optical and illumination interfaces are provided?

MV-SC6050C uses C-mount and does not include a light source. The lens should cover the 1/1.45-inch sensor and 2432 × 2048 image. A light-source output on the 17-pin M12 connector can drive external illumination up to 30 W.

How can a controller trigger the camera and receive a result?

The 17-pin M12 connection provides two opto-isolated inputs, two opto-isolated outputs and two configurable non-isolated input/output lines. It also carries one RS-232 channel, while Gigabit Ethernet supports PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and Modbus.

What supply sizing and enclosure conditions apply?

Supply is 24 VDC. Consumption is approximately 12.5 W without an external light and approximately 42.5 W with one. IP67 protection requires correct installation of the waterproof lens cap, and the working range extends from 0 °C to 50 °C.

Typical applications

MV-SC6050C-12M-XBN is an integrated color smart camera for machine-vision inspection workflows that require onboard processing, fixed 12 mm optics and built-in lighting.

Execution covered by this card

This card covers the integrated MV-SC6050C-12M-XBN execution only. Its ordering references are PN 308600850 and PN_NEU 308600874 (active, no EOL flag); confirm the current PN with our engineers before ordering.

Integrated imaging system

The camera uses a color global-shutter CMOS sensor with 2432 × 2048 resolution (4.98 MP), 1/1.45-inch format and 3.45 × 3.45 µm pixels. Acquisition is listed at up to 80 fps, with Mono8 and RGB8 pixel formats. The integrated execution uses a 12 mm M12 lens and eight multi-color LEDs with red, green, blue and white channels.

On-device resources and enclosure

The consolidated record lists 8 GB memory, 64 GB storage, Gigabit Ethernet and 24 VDC power. The body measures 77 × 98 × 115.7 mm, weighs 750 g and is rated IP67, with a 0–50 °C working range.

Inspection workflows

Existing product content associates the 5 MP/80 fps tier with OCR, object recognition and defect detection workflows in Vision Master Platform. Exact tool and deep-learning licensing for this color execution must be confirmed before those functions are specified in a project.

Separate C-mount execution

MV-SC6050C-00C-NNN V2.0 is a separate C-mount execution, recorded as PN 308600837 with PN_NEU 308600845. It has no built-in light, uses 17-pin M12 I/O and has different body and weight data. Its characteristics are not combined with the integrated 12M-XBN specification above.

FAQ

Should the project use integrated 12M-XBN PN 308600850/308600874 or the separate C-mount 00C-NNN execution?

The 12M-XBN execution integrates a 12 mm M12 lens and eight multi-color LEDs with red, green, blue and white channels. The separate 00C-NNN V2.0 execution has a C-mount, no built-in light, 17-pin M12 I/O and different body and weight data.
