Behind it, the 1/2.9-inch Sony® IMX296 CMOS sensor uses 3.45 µm pixels, a global shutter and 1440 × 1080 Bayer RG 8 output at up to 65.2 fps. The network port runs at 1000 Mbit/s and remains compatible with 100 Mbit/s Ethernet.

Compact color stations can use the camera for checking moving assemblies, reading color-coded conditions or following component placement. Global shutter timing avoids row-dependent motion geometry, and UltraShort exposure from 1 µs to 14 µs supports strobed capture. Standard exposure spans 15 µs to 10 sec. MV-CB016-10GC-C is the direct optical alternative: it retains the Sony® IMX296, 65.2 fps ceiling, PoE and 29 mm × 29 mm × 30.2 mm dimensions but changes to C-mount. MV-CB016-10UC-S V4.0 also has a small-thread S-mount and color output, yet moves data over USB 3.0 and raises the ADC 8 rate to 249.1 fps using the IMX273. The 10GC-S suits M12 optics and Ethernet cabling; the others address C-mount or substantially faster USB capture.
