M12 high-detail color applications

An M12-mount brings compact optics to the 12.2 MP color output of MV-CB120-10UC-S V4.0. Its 1/1.7-inch Sony® IMX226 CMOS sensor records 4032 × 3036 from 1.85 µm pixels at 30 fps. The sensor uses a rolling shutter, and USB 3.0 connects the 35 mm × 35 mm × 8.6 mm, approximately 30 g camera to its host.

The pixel count supports inspection of small color features, dense component layouts and stationary assemblies. When the subject is moving, acquisition should be coordinated with the rolling exposure; Line 2 and Line 5 provide bidirectional non-isolated I/O for that timing. Exposure spans 33 µs to 2 sec and gain spans 0 dB to 20 dB. USB 3.0 transfers images and supplies 5 VDC at a typical 2 W.

MV-CB120-10UC-B V4.0 retains the color sensor, resolution and 30 fps rate on a 32.5 mm × 32.5 mm × 1.6 mm board for device-side optical integration. MV-CB120-10UM-B V4.0 uses the same thin board but changes to mono and consumes a typical 1.5 W. MV-CB120-10GM-C is a mono C-mount alternative with Gigabit Ethernet and PoE, operating at 9.7 fps and 4024 × 3036. Choose UC-S when the design specifically joins M12 optics with high-resolution color USB capture.

Selection and applications

M12 high-detail color inspection. Dense component-layout verification. Timed fine-feature capture.

Minimum kit: Use the camera with an M12-mount lens covering the 1/1.7-inch sensor and a USB 3.0 cable connected to a host that supplies 5 VDC power.

Nearby in the range: MV-CB120-10UC-B V4.0 — Choose it when the same 4032 × 3036 color stream must fit a 1.6 mm board.; MV-CB120-10UM-B V4.0 — Choose it for mono 4032 × 3036 output at 30 fps on the thin board.; MV-CB120-10GM-C — Choose it when mono output, C-mount, Gigabit Ethernet and PoE are required..

FAQ

What lens interface is supplied with MV-CB120-10UC-S V4.0?

The camera provides an M12-mount for its 1/1.7-inch Sony® IMX226 sensor. The selected M12 lens must cover that format and support the required field of view across the 4032 × 3036 image.

What spatial sampling does MV-CB120-10UC-S V4.0 provide?

The color sensor outputs 4032 × 3036 from 1.85 µm pixels at up to 30 fps. Its optical format is 1/1.7 inch, the shutter is rolling, and the specified dynamic range is 64.6 dB.

How is capture timing managed on MV-CB120-10UC-S V4.0?

Line 2 and Line 5 provide two bidirectional non-isolated I/O points for external timing. This is relevant to coordinating a moving process with the rolling shutter. Exposure can be adjusted from 33 µs to 2 sec.

Does MV-CB120-10UC-S V4.0 take power from the host?

Yes. USB 3.0 supplies the specified 5 VDC camera power and carries image data. Typical consumption is 2 W. The working temperature range is 0 °C to 50 °C under non-condensing humidity conditions.

When is the UC-B version mechanically preferable to UC-S?

MV-CB120-10UC-B V4.0 uses a 32.5 mm × 32.5 mm × 1.6 mm board weighing about 10 g. UC-S adds the M12-mount in a 35 mm × 35 mm × 8.6 mm body at about 30 g; color resolution and 30 fps rate match.
