Fast color capture and range position

Rapid color acquisition at a modest pixel count defines MV-CS004-10GC. Its Sony® IMX297 1/2.9-inch CMOS sensor combines a global shutter, 720 × 540 output and 6.9 µm pixels. The camera reaches 125.2 fps over Gigabit Ethernet, while UltraShort exposure extends from 1 µs to 14 µs. This combination suits inspections governed by event timing and motion rather than fine spatial detail.

On a conveyor, the global shutter holds the geometry of passing parts while the color output can separate labels, caps or indicators by visible appearance. The 0.4 MP frame also keeps image size restrained for continuous presence checks and position decisions. PoE can carry power on the network connection, or the 6-pin Hirose port can accept 9–24 V DC and provide one isolated input, one isolated output and one bidirectional line.

Within the 0.4 MP group, MV-CS004-11GC keeps color and Gigabit Ethernet but raises the ceiling to 312.9 fps with the Sony® IMX287. MV-CS004-10UC uses that sensor and USB 3.0 to reach 526.5 fps when the host is close to the camera. Choose MV-CS004-10GC for a 125.2 fps PoE station and its IMX297 sensor; choose either faster neighbour when the process needs denser temporal sampling at the same 720 × 540 resolution.

FAQ

What inspection scale fits the 720 × 540 color output?

The 720 × 540 frame is intended for coarse spatial decisions such as presence, orientation and color-state checks. Its 0.4 MP output trades fine detail for a rate of 125.2 fps, so the feature being inspected should occupy enough pixels in the selected image area.

How does the shutter support moving-part inspection?

The Sony® IMX297 uses a global shutter, exposing the frame at one time rather than line by line. For rapid motion, UltraShort exposure can be set from 1 µs to 14 µs; standard exposure then covers 15 µs to 10 sec for slower or stationary scenes.

Can MV-CS004-10GC receive power through its network cable?

Yes. The Gigabit Ethernet camera supports PoE, allowing data and power to share the network connection. A separate 9–24 V DC feed is also supported through the 6-pin Hirose connector, with typical consumption of 2.5 W at 12 V DC.

Which hardware signals are available for line integration?

The 6-pin Hirose connector carries one opto-isolated input, one opto-isolated output and one bidirectional non-isolated I/O line. These connections provide the electrical points needed to coordinate acquisition and an external device around the camera's 125.2 fps stream.

What lens mount and environment should the installation allow for?

Use a C-mount lens sized for the 1/2.9-inch sensor. The 29 mm × 29 mm × 42 mm body is rated IP40 when the lens and wiring are installed correctly, and its working-temperature range is –30 °C to 60 °C.
