Compact 2 MP USB capture with IMX430

USB 3.0 acquisition at 1624 × 1240 and 90 fps is the core of MV-CS020-10UM. The Sony® IMX430 CMOS sensor has a 1/1.7-inch format, 4.5 µm pixels and a global shutter. A 29 mm × 29 mm × 30 mm enclosure packages the 2 MP imaging path for installations beside the host. The combination favors moving-part inspection where added detail over MV-CS016-10UM and a higher USB frame rate are both useful.

Position, outline, presence and small-feature checks can use the dense image while the global shutter keeps moving geometry consistent. The 90 fps ceiling allows repeated observations across a machine cycle. External timing is available through a 6-pin P7 connector with one isolated input, one isolated output and one bidirectional non-isolated line. Power is specified at 9–24 V DC, with consumption of 2.3 W.

MV-CS020-10UC matches the IMX430, 1624 × 1240, USB 3.0, 90 fps and 30 mm body depth, and explicitly states Bayer RG 8 color output plus USB power. MV-CS020-10GM moves the same sensor to Gigabit Ethernet at 60 fps in a 42 mm-deep body. MV-CS020-61UM V5.0 stays with USB and 1624 × 1240, increases speed to 99.6 fps and changes to a Stacked BSI sensor with two operating modes. Select this model for the stated IMX430 USB setup.

FAQ

What sensor format and sampling does MV-CS020-10UM use?

The Sony® IMX430 has a 1/1.7-inch optical format, 4.5 µm × 4.5 µm pixels and 1624 × 1240 resolution. A C-mount lens must cover that sensor area and map the required scene onto the 2 MP grid.

What is the maximum acquisition rate through USB 3.0?

The stated maximum is 90 fps at 1624 × 1240. USB 3.0 is the primary data interface, with USB 2.0 also supported, and the CMOS sensor uses a global shutter for moving-image geometry.

Which power input is specified for the MV-CS020-10UM camera?

A 9–24 V DC supply is specified, and camera consumption is 2.3 W. The P7 port provides the associated electrical connection together with one isolated input, one isolated output and one bidirectional I/O.

How compact is the housing compared with MV-CS020-10GM?

MV-CS020-10UM measures 29 mm × 29 mm × 30 mm and weighs 80 g. MV-CS020-10GM uses a 29 mm × 29 mm × 42 mm body at 100 g, so the USB camera is 12 mm shallower and 20 g lighter.

What environmental range surrounds the USB installation?

The camera is rated IP40 and operates from –30 °C to 60 °C. Its storage range is –30 °C to 70 °C, with humidity specified from 20% RH to 95% RH. The body weighs 80 g.
