USB color acquisition with two modes

Two operating modes accompany the 60 fps color output of MV-CS050-60UC V5.0. Its 2/3-inch Stacked BSI global-shutter CMOS sensor records 2448 × 2048 Bayer GR 8 with 3.45 µm pixels and 73.9 dB dynamic range. USB 3.0 transports the image and can power the camera, while USB 2.0 remains an accepted connection path.

Fast color presence and orientation checks can switch between high full well capacity and high sensitivity according to illumination. The former starts exposure at 30 µs and limits gain to 12.8 dB; the latter begins at 5 µs and permits gain to 24 dB. Global shutter capture and isolated trigger I/O tie each image to the motion and timing of the machine.

MV-CS050-60UC V2.0 has the same resolution, color format and 60 fps speed but uses a single 5 µs to 10 sec exposure range and 1.8 W typical consumption at 5 VDC. MV-CS050-60UM V5.0 is the mono partner with the same two modes and rate. MV-CS050-80UC V5.0 changes to an SS sensor and reaches 80 fps, with a single 15 µs to 10 sec exposure range.

FAQ

How fast is full-resolution capture on MV-CS050-60UC V5.0?

The complete 2448 × 2048 Bayer GR 8 color frame runs at up to 60 fps. Imaging uses a 2/3-inch Stacked BSI global-shutter CMOS sensor with 3.45 µm × 3.45 µm pixels and 73.9 dB dynamic range.

How do the two MV-CS050-60UC V5.0 sensor modes differ?

High full well capacity covers 30 µs to 10 sec and 0 dB to 12.8 dB. High sensitivity covers 5 µs to 10 sec and 0 dB to 24 dB. Both modes retain global shutter operation.

What are the supply choices for MV-CS050-60UC V5.0?

USB 3.0 can power the camera at a typical 1.5 W from 5 VDC. The unit also accepts 9 VDC to 24 VDC. Its USB 3.0 image interface is compatible with a USB 2.0 connection.

Which I/O signals accompany MV-CS050-60UC V5.0 acquisition?

A 6-pin P7 connector carries one opto-isolated input, one opto-isolated output and one bidirectional non-isolated I/O. The isolated lines can handle camera triggering and coordination with timed illumination.

When should MV-CS050-80UC V5.0 be chosen over the 60UC?

MV-CS050-80UC V5.0 reaches 80 fps instead of 60 fps and uses an SS sensor with 15 µs to 10 sec exposure. Both provide 2448 × 2048 Bayer color through USB 3.0 from a 2/3-inch global-shutter imager.
