UltraShort mono imaging over GigE

UltraShort exposure from 2 µs to 4 µs is the defining timing feature of the GMAX3405-based MV-CS050-90GM. Its 2/3-inch global-shutter CMOS sensor uses 3.4 µm pixels and supplies 2448 × 2048 Mono 8 at 24.2 fps. Gigabit Ethernet carries the 5 MP image, PoE supports remote power, and the stated dynamic range is 66 dB.

The mono output supports high-contrast edge, position and dimension checks on moving components. Standard exposure begins at 5 µs and extends to 10 sec, while global shutter timing holds geometry across the frame. A 6-pin P7 connector gives the station an isolated trigger input, an isolated output and a bidirectional non-isolated line for coordinated capture.

MV-CS050-90GC is the Bayer GB 8 color counterpart with the same GMAX3405, 2448 × 2048 frame and 24.2 fps rate. MV-CS050-80GM V5.0 uses an SS sensor at 24 fps, with 3.45 µm pixels and exposure starting at 25 µs. MV-CS050-10GM-PRO also delivers 24.2 fps Mono 8, changing to Sony® IMX264 and a 1 µs to 14 µs UltraShort interval.

Selection and applications

UltraShort mono motion capture. High-contrast edge measurement. Triggered dimensional inspection over GigE.

Minimum kit: Use the MV-CS050-90GM camera, a C-mount lens for the 2/3-inch sensor, a Gigabit Ethernet cable, and PoE or a 9 VDC to 24 VDC source.

Nearby in the range: MV-CS050-90GC — Choose it for Bayer GB 8 color from the same GMAX3405 at 24.2 fps.; MV-CS050-80GM V5.0 — Choose it for an SS mono sensor at 24 fps and 1.3 W typical consumption.; MV-CS050-10GM-PRO — Choose it for Sony® IMX264 Mono 8 with exposure starting at 1 µs..

FAQ

What mono output does the MV-CS050-90GM GMAX3405 deliver?

It delivers 2448 × 2048 Mono 8 at up to 24.2 fps. The GMAX3405 is a 2/3-inch global-shutter CMOS sensor with 3.4 µm × 3.4 µm pixels, paired with 66 dB dynamic range.

What exposure intervals are selectable on MV-CS050-90GM?

UltraShort exposure operates from 2 µs to 4 µs. Standard exposure then covers 5 µs to 10 sec. Global shutter operation applies the chosen interval simultaneously over the full image.

Can PoE supply MV-CS050-90GM through the image network?

PoE is supported, as is a direct 9 VDC to 24 VDC input. Typical consumption is 2.2 W at 12 VDC. The camera connects at 1000 Mbit/s or through 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet.

How large is MV-CS050-90GM and what lens mount is fitted?

The enclosure measures 29 mm × 29 mm × 42 mm, weighs about 100 g and uses C-mount for the 2/3-inch sensor. Its ingress rating is IP40 with proper lens installation and wiring.

When should MV-CS050-90GC be selected rather than 90GM?

Select MV-CS050-90GC when Bayer GB 8 color information is required. It otherwise shares the GMAX3405 sensor, 2448 × 2048 resolution, 24.2 fps speed and exposure ranges of the Mono 8 model.
