Applications, speed and alternatives
Five-megapixel monochrome capture at 80 fps gives MV-CT0MU0050/G its engineering role. A global-shutter Stacked BSI CMOS sensor produces 2448 × 2048 px from a 2/3 in format with 3.45 × 3.45 µm pixels. USB 3.0 passes data through Type-C, and the sensor offers separate high-full-well-capacity and high-sensitivity exposure behaviour.
This combination supports surface-feature inspection, component orientation and dimensional analysis on parts that remain in motion. The global shutter preserves shape across the frame, while the 5 µs minimum in high-sensitivity operation can match short strobes. Trigger Width and Trigger Controlled exposure coordinate the camera with line sensors, and 2 × 2 or 4 × 4 binning and decimation provide acquisition-side scaling when full detail is unnecessary.
MV-CT0MU0032/G increases speed to 104.8 fps but limits the frame to 2048 × 1536 px. MV-CT0MU0060/R reaches 3072 × 2048 px at 60.9 fps, using a Sony IMX178 rolling shutter instead of a global shutter. Choose MV-CT0MU0050/G for the 2448 × 2048 px global-shutter balance; move down for rate or up to the 6 MP model for added horizontal sampling on stationary targets or with strobe-synchronized capture.

Minimum kit: The minimum imaging set is the camera, a C-mount lens, a USB 3.0 Type-C cable, and USB power or a 9–24 V DC feed.
Nearby in the range: MV-CT0MU0032/G — Prefer it when 104.8 fps is needed and 2048 × 1536 px is enough.; MV-CT0MU0060/R — Prefer it for 3072 × 2048 px at 60.9 fps when a rolling shutter is acceptable..

FAQ
Which listed lenses match the MV-CT0MU0050/G image sensor?
The C-mount MVL-KF1628M-12MP and MVL-KF5024M-25MP are both suggested. Each covers the camera's 2/3 in optical format. Their respective 12 MP and 25 MP resolution classes exceed the 2448 × 2048 px image, so the lens options do not set a lower nominal resolution class.
Does MV-CT0MU0050/G need a separate power cable for normal operation?
Not necessarily. USB power is supported, with typical draw listed as 1.6 W at 5 V DC from USB 3.0. The same Type-C connection carries image data. If power and I/O are routed separately, the 8-pin M8 A-Code connector accepts a 9 V DC to 24 V DC input.
How does MV-CT0MU0050/G capture parts moving through view?
A global shutter exposes the 2448 × 2048 px frame together, avoiding line-by-line distortion of moving geometry. Mono 8 acquisition reaches 80 fps. High-sensitivity exposure can begin at 5 µs, and Trigger Width or Trigger Controlled functions let an external event define the capture timing.
What do the two gain ranges on MV-CT0MU0050/G provide?
High-full-well-capacity operation allows 0 dB to 12.8 dB gain and 30 µs to 10 sec exposure. High-sensitivity operation extends gain to 24 dB and starts exposure at 5 µs. This gives the integrator documented choices for bright, short illumination and lower-light acquisition.
Where can the MV-CT0MU0050/G housing be installed?
The body is 29 mm × 29 mm × 30 mm and approximately 72 g, making it suitable for compact protected stations. Its rating is IP40 after correct lens installation and wiring. Operation is specified from –30 °C to 60 °C and at 20% RH to 95% RH without condensation.
