Long-range capture and positioning
A 1000 mm measurement range and 1200 mm working distance define the long-range Base configuration. MV-RS-Base-L records RGB at 3200 × 1944 and depth at 1632 × 1264, with a 0.4 s to 0.9 s capture time. Its 638 nm Class 2 laser, Gigabit Ethernet link and 0.15 mm accuracy at 1800 mm suit measured RGB-D acquisition across large, deep scenes.
At 1800 mm the view spans 1100 mm × 900 mm, so the unit can observe broad containers, stacked objects or a large robot work area from one fixed station. Repeatability of 0.08 mm at that distance supports repeated pose or height checks. Three opto-isolated inputs and three opto-isolated outputs on the 12-pin M12 connection provide timing links to a cell controller.
Within this 3D range, MV-RS-Base-L trades detail for reach. MV-RS-Ultra-L keeps the same 0.15 mm accuracy at 1800 mm but raises depth resolution to 2448 × 2048; choose it when denser geometry matters. MV-RS-Base-M starts at 800 mm and covers only a 400 mm measurement range, while MV-RS-Pro-XL extends the range to 2000 mm for still larger scenes.
Overview
A galvanometer 3D camera: a scanner sweeps the laser beam across the scene, two cameras capture the result, and the device builds a point cloud of the whole part in one shot, with no conveyor motion. Acquisition takes 0.4 to 0.9 seconds.
The main use is robot guidance: bin picking, palletising, depalletising. It works together with RobotPilot and VM3D.

Selection and applications
RGB-D capture across a 1000 mm measurement range. Large-area 3D localization at a 1200 mm working distance. Repeated geometry checks with 0.08 mm repeatability at 1800 mm.
Minimum kit: Use the MV-RS-Base-L unit with a Gigabit Ethernet cable, a 12-pin M12 power and I/O cable, and a 24 V DC supply rated for its typical 15 W consumption.
Nearby in the range: MV-RS-Ultra-L — Prefer it when 2448 × 2048 depth sampling is required at the long working range.; MV-RS-Base-M — Prefer it for a 400 mm measurement range starting at a shorter 800 mm working distance.; MV-RS-Pro-XL — Prefer it when the scene requires a 2000 mm measurement range..

FAQ
What scene size can MV-RS-Base-L capture from its rated distances?
The view is 640 mm × 600 mm at 1200 mm, 1100 mm × 900 mm at 1800 mm, and 1220 mm × 1000 mm at 2200 mm. Together with the 1000 mm measurement range, these values define the volume that must fit inside the calibrated view.
How much geometric detail and accuracy does MV-RS-Base-L provide?
Depth output is 1632 × 1264 points, paired with a 3200 × 1944 RGB image. Accuracy is 0.15 mm and repeatability is 0.08 mm at 1800 mm, so both the sampling density and the stated distance should be used when sizing the smallest feature to inspect.
How should the acquisition cycle be timed for MV-RS-Base-L?
A capture takes 0.4 s to 0.9 s. The 12-pin M12 interface includes three opto-isolated inputs and three opto-isolated outputs, allowing a controller to coordinate acquisition with a robot pause or another machine-cycle event.
What network and power connections are required for MV-RS-Base-L?
Image and depth data use Gigabit Ethernet at 1000 Mbit/s. Power is 24 V DC, with typical consumption of 15 W, and the 12-pin M12 connection carries power and I/O. Network capacity should account for both RGB and depth transfers.
What environmental limits apply to an MV-RS-Base-L installation?
The enclosure is rated IP65. Operation is specified from 0 °C to 45 °C and 20% RH to 85% RH without condensation; storage extends from –30 °C to 80 °C. The 456.1 mm × 79.8 mm × 98.5 mm body weighs about 1.5 kg.
