Medium-range detail and coverage
A 700 mm working distance paired with a 700 mm measurement range gives MV-RS-Ultra-M a deep medium-range view. The camera records 4000 × 3000 RGB and 2448 × 2048 depth, using a 638 nm Class 2 laser and a 0.4 s to 0.9 s capture interval. At 1000 mm, accuracy is 0.12 mm and repeatability is 0.06 mm.
Its view grows from 540 mm × 530 mm at 700 mm to 1240 mm × 1060 mm at 1400 mm. This geometry supports 3D localization across medium containers, depth-based separation of adjacent objects and dimensional checks at multiple surface heights. Three isolated inputs and three isolated outputs allow the acquisition to be tied to a robot or handling sequence.
MV-RS-Ultra-M offers more depth reach and denser sampling than MV-RS-Base-M, which has a 400 mm range and 1632 × 1264 depth output. MV-RS-Ultra-S moves the near point to 500 mm and states 0.05 mm accuracy at 600 mm for closer work. MV-RS-Ultra-L begins at 1300 mm. MV-RS-Ultra-M is the middle choice when both a 700 mm near distance and 2448 × 2048 depth are required.
Overview
A galvanometer 3D camera: a scanner sweeps the laser beam across the scene, two cameras capture the result, and the device builds a point cloud of the whole part in one shot, with no conveyor motion. Acquisition takes 0.4 to 0.9 seconds.
The main use is robot guidance: bin picking, palletising, depalletising. It works together with RobotPilot and VM3D.

Selection and applications
Medium-range 3D localization across 700 mm in depth. Depth-based object separation at a 700 mm working distance. Dense RGB-D inspection with 0.06 mm repeatability at 1000 mm.
Minimum kit: Use the MV-RS-Ultra-M unit with a Gigabit Ethernet cable, a 12-pin M12 power and I/O cable, and a 24 V DC source sized for typical 15 W consumption.
Nearby in the range: MV-RS-Base-M — Prefer it when a 400 mm range and 1632 × 1264 depth output meet the task.; MV-RS-Ultra-S — Prefer it for a 500 mm working distance and 0.05 mm accuracy at 600 mm.; MV-RS-Ultra-L — Prefer it when the scene starts at a 1300 mm working distance..

FAQ
What working envelope should be planned for MV-RS-Ultra-M?
The nominal working distance and measurement range are both 700 mm. The view is 540 mm × 530 mm at 700 mm, 890 mm × 760 mm at 1000 mm, and 1240 mm × 1060 mm at 1400 mm.
What depth density and metrology figures does MV-RS-Ultra-M offer?
MV-RS-Ultra-M produces 2448 × 2048 depth points together with a 4000 × 3000 RGB frame. At 1000 mm, its accuracy is 0.12 mm and repeatability is 0.06 mm, providing the reference figures for tolerance assessment.
What is the capture and transfer path for MV-RS-Ultra-M?
A capture takes between 0.4 s and 0.9 s. The resulting RGB and depth data use Gigabit Ethernet at 1000 Mbit/s, while RobotPilot and HiViewer are the software applications listed for viewing or processing camera output.
Which power and I/O resources are needed for MV-RS-Ultra-M integration?
Provide 24 V DC for a typical 15 W load. The 12-pin M12 interface carries power and offers three opto-isolated inputs plus three opto-isolated outputs, giving the cell controller discrete synchronization points.
How should the MV-RS-Ultra-M housing be accommodated?
The enclosure measures 385.7 mm × 81.8 mm × 127 mm and weighs about 2.3 kg. It is rated IP65, works from 0 °C to 45 °C, and allows 20% RH to 85% RH without condensation; storage is –30 °C to 80 °C.
