Higher-resolution mono SC2000E positioning

Mono 1408 × 1024 acquisition at up to 60 fps places MV-SC2016EM above the 704 × 540 mono SC2000E option in spatial sampling. Its 1/2.9-inch CMOS sensor has 3.45 µm pixels, a global shutter and an exposure range from 16 µs to 1 sec. The 6.72 mm and 8 mm configurations differ in body depth, mass and power demand.

Grayscale size, contrast, edge width, brightness, diameter and angle measurements support dimensional decisions, while spot, edge, pattern and contour counts support completeness checks. OCR and classification registration add recognition functions. A 17-pin M12 connector brings together 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet, RS-232, 12–24 V DC power, discrete I/O and an external-button input for a compact line connection.

MV-SC2016EC is the color partner with the same 1408 × 1024 frame, 60 fps ceiling and 3.45 µm pitch. MV-SC2004EM retains mono processing and 60 fps but reduces resolution to 704 × 540 with 6.9 µm pixels. MV-SC3016M also records 1408 × 1024 monochrome images and identifies a 14-white-LED source. Pick MV-SC2016EM for higher-resolution mono analysis in the SC2000E form factors.

Selection and applications

Detailed grayscale measurement. Sixty-frame-per-second OCR. Mono pattern and edge counting.

Minimum kit: Commissioning requires the selected MV-SC2016EM body, a 17-pin M12 cable for Fast Ethernet and machine I/O, and a 12–24 V DC source sized for the selected configuration.

Nearby in the range: MV-SC2016EC — Use it when 1408 × 1024 acquisition must retain color information.; MV-SC2004EM — Choose it for 704 × 540 mono processing with the same 60 fps ceiling.; MV-SC3016M — Consider it when the same 1408 × 1024 mono grid is paired with 14 white LEDs..

FAQ

What motion and exposure characteristics does MV-SC2016EM offer?

Its CMOS imager uses a global shutter, captures 1408 × 1024 mono frames at up to 60 fps and allows exposure from 16 µs to 1 sec. Gain is adjustable from 0 dB to 15 dB for changes in target signal level.

Which grayscale inspection tools are included with MV-SC2016EM?

The functions cover grayscale size, contrast, brightness, widths, diameter and angular measurement, along with spot, edge, contour, pattern, circle and line existence. OCR, classification registration and fixture location are also represented.

How do the 6.72 mm and 8 mm MV-SC2016EM bodies differ?

The 6.72 mm version is 46 × 38 × 25 mm and approximately 160 g. The 8 mm version is 46 × 57.6 × 25 mm and approximately 220 g. Both configurations retain the same 1408 × 1024 imaging format and IP65 rating.

Which power allowance is needed for each MV-SC2016EM option?

The 6.72 mm configuration averages 4 W at 24 V DC and reaches 11 W. The 8 mm option is listed at approximately 22 W. Both operate within a 12–24 V DC supply range, so the selected variant determines supply sizing.

What is gained by choosing MV-SC2016EM over MV-SC2004EM?

MV-SC2016EM raises mono resolution to 1408 × 1024 with 3.45 µm pixels, compared with 704 × 540 and 6.9 µm for MV-SC2004EM. Both sensors retain global shutters, a maximum 60 fps rate and IP65 protection.
