Detailed color inspection at line rate

A 1408 × 1024 color frame and 60 fps maximum give MV-SC2016EC more spatial sampling than the lower-resolution SC2000E pair without sacrificing their acquisition ceiling. The global-shutter CMOS device uses a 1/2.9-inch format with 3.45 µm pixels, and exposure is variable from 16 µs to 1 sec. An M12 mount with manual focus and a built-in white LED lamp complete the imaging path.

The processing suite combines color measurement, color size, color contrast and color recognition with OCR, pattern checks, edge measurements and fixture location. This supports colored-component identification, character verification and dimensional checks on moving or indexed parts. Fast Ethernet provides 100 Mbit/s communication, while an 8-pin green terminal carries 12–24 V DC power, digital I/O, RS-232 and an external-button input.

MV-SC2016EM provides the same 1408 × 1024, 60 fps and global-shutter base in mono. MV-SC2004EC stays color and 60 fps but reduces the frame to 704 × 540 with 6.9 µm pixels. MV-SC3016C matches 1408 × 1024 color at 60 fps and moves to an IP67 body with 14 LEDs and storage for 32 solutions. Select MV-SC2016EC for color detail in the smaller IP65 SC2000E layout.

Selection and applications

Color feature measurement. Moving-part OCR verification. Pattern and contour inspection.

Minimum kit: The required imaging set is MV-SC2016EC, a manually focused M12-mount lens, the built-in white LED, a Fast Ethernet cable, terminal wiring and a 12–24 V DC supply.

Nearby in the range: MV-SC2016EM — Choose it for mono 1408 × 1024 processing at the same 60 fps.; MV-SC2004EC — Prefer it when 704 × 540 color data is sufficient and 6.9 µm pixels suit the scene.; MV-SC3016C — Use it for the same color resolution and rate in an IP67 body with 14 LEDs..

FAQ

What detail and rate can MV-SC2016EC acquire simultaneously?

The color sensor outputs 1408 × 1024 pixels at up to 60 fps. It uses a global shutter, 3.45 µm pixels and a 1/2.9-inch sensor format, giving a defined combination of spatial sampling and frame cadence for triggered inspection.

Which color and recognition functions are onboard MV-SC2016EC?

Color measurement, color size, color count, color contrast and color recognition are listed together with OCR, category recognition and classification registration. Pattern and contour checks, fixture location and logic tools can combine their results.

What optical adjustment does the MV-SC2016EC assembly allow?

The unit uses an M12 mount and supports manual focus adjustment. A white LED lamp is integrated. The 1/2.9-inch imager has 3.45 µm pixels, so the chosen M12 optics and focus position must resolve the target across 1408 × 1024 samples.

How are network, power and I/O separated on MV-SC2016EC?

An Ethernet female connector carries 100 Mbit/s network traffic. An 8-pin green terminal provides 12–24 V DC power, one input, one output, two configurable I/O lines, one RS-232 channel and one external-button input.

When should MV-SC2016EC replace the lower-resolution MV-SC2004EC?

Use MV-SC2016EC when a color task benefits from 1408 × 1024 rather than 704 × 540 sampling. Both models use global shutters, reach 60 fps and offer color processing, but their pixel pitches are 3.45 µm and 6.9 µm respectively.
