Color detail over Gigabit Ethernet

Five-megapixel color imaging over Gigabit Ethernet is the defining balance of MV-CE050-31GC V3.0. Its 1/2.5-inch Aptina AR0521 CMOS sensor records 2592 × 1944 with 2.2 µm pixels, a rolling shutter and a maximum rate of 24 fps. The design fits detail-led color inspection in which subjects can be stationary during exposure.

Assembly verification, label inspection and color-dependent presence checks can use the full pixel array, while the 21 µs to 1 sec exposure range covers short lit captures and longer static observations. PoE permits data and power on the Ethernet route. The 29 mm × 29 mm × 42 mm body accepts C-mount lenses, and its opto-isolated input and output provide signal paths for a networked cell.

MV-CE050-30UC retains the Aptina AR0521 and 2592 × 1944 array but uses USB3.0 and reaches 44.7 fps. MV-CE060-10UC increases resolution to 3072 × 2048 and runs at 42.7 fps over USB3.0 for color tasks needing more spatial samples. MV-CE013-80GC V3.0 instead drops to 1280 × 1024 while increasing speed to 89.9 fps and changing to a global shutter.

FAQ

When does the rolling shutter fit an inspection sequence?

The Aptina AR0521 uses a rolling shutter and outputs 2592 × 1944 color frames at up to 24 fps. It fits stations where the object is held, indexed or otherwise stationary during exposure, allowing the full five-megapixel image to be used for detail analysis.

What optical coverage does the Aptina AR0521 require?

The sensor format is 1/2.5 inch and the mechanical interface is C-mount. A lens should cover that format and resolve detail across the 2592 × 1944 array, whose pixels measure 2.2 µm × 2.2 µm.

Can the Ethernet link carry both images and camera power?

Yes. MV-CE050-31GC V3.0 supports PoE on its Gigabit Ethernet link and is compatible with Fast Ethernet. External supply from 9 VDC to 24 VDC is also supported; typical draw is 2.4 W at 12 VDC.

Which I/O channels are provided for cell integration?

The 6-pin Hirose connector carries one opto-isolated input on Line 0, one opto-isolated output on Line 1 and one bidirectional non-isolated channel on Line 2. It also serves as the external power connection.

How is this model positioned against MV-CE050-30UC?

Both cameras use the Aptina AR0521 at 2592 × 1944. MV-CE050-31GC V3.0 is a 24 fps color model with a rolling shutter and Gigabit Ethernet, while MV-CE050-30UC uses USB3.0 and reaches 44.7 fps.
