Fast 1.6 MP color acquisition
A 249.1 fps ceiling at 1440 × 1080 makes MV-CS016-10UC a high-rate color camera with more spatial sampling than MV-CS013-80UC. The Sony® IMX273 1/2.9-inch CMOS sensor uses 3.45 µm pixels, Bayer RG 8 output and a global shutter. USB 3.0 carries the image stream and can power the 29 mm × 29 mm × 30 mm camera, while UltraShort exposure begins at 1 µs for brief moving events.
This model can inspect color marks, component orientation and printed features on rapid mechanisms, or acquire several frames through a short machine transition. The global shutter preserves shape during motion, and the 1.6 MP grid offers more detail for position or edge algorithms than the 1280 × 1024 MV-CS013-80UC. Its P7 connector supplies an isolated input, an isolated output and a bidirectional line when acquisition must be tied to an external electrical event.
MV-CS016-10UM shares the IMX273, 1440 × 1080 format, 249.1 fps and USB 3.0 in the paired configuration. MV-CS016-11GM uses the same sensor for Mono output at 78.2 fps through Gigabit Ethernet with PoE. MV-CS013-80UC is a color USB neighbour at 240.4 fps but reduces resolution to 1280 × 1024 and uses 4 µm pixels. Choose MV-CS016-10UC when color, finer sampling and the faster USB link are required together.

FAQ
What image stream is available at the 249.1 fps ceiling?
The maximum rate is 249.1 fps at 1440 × 1080 Bayer RG 8. This supplies color information at the camera's stated 1.6 MP format, with USB 3.0 carrying the stream to the processing host.
Can USB 3.0 supply operating power to MV-CS016-10UC?
Yes. USB 3.0 power is supported, and typical consumption is 3.3 W at 5 V DC. The camera also accepts 9–24 V DC through the 6-pin P7 connection when the station uses a separate supply.
Which exposure range is intended for short motion events?
UltraShort exposure spans 1 µs to 14 µs, while standard exposure covers 15 µs to 10 sec. The global shutter exposes the full sensor together, so the short range can be used to limit motion displacement in a frame.
How does this model compare with the MV-CS013-80UC color camera?
MV-CS016-10UC provides 1440 × 1080 at 249.1 fps with 3.45 µm pixels. MV-CS013-80UC provides 1280 × 1024 at 240.4 fps with 4 µm pixels. Both are global-shutter color cameras using USB 3.0.
What lens coverage and housing size should be planned?
Use a C-mount lens covering the 1/2.9-inch sensor. The housing measures 29 mm × 29 mm × 30 mm and weighs approximately 80 g. IP40 applies with correct lens installation and wiring.
Typical applications
