What this version gives you:

Integrated rolling-shutter imaging

A Sony IMX178 colour sensor is combined with a 16 mm liquid lens and white lighting in MV-CT2CG0060/R/16LC/WN. The 1/1.8-inch rolling-shutter CMOS device captures 3072 × 2048 Bayer RG 8 at 40 fps with lossless compression enabled. Complete dimensions are 77 mm × 77 mm × 123.8 mm, enclosing the 6 MP optical and illumination assembly.

The head fits indexed component inspection, colour surface checks and stationary label reading where built-in lighting reduces external hardware. Illumination spans 6000 K to 9000 K over a 90° angle, and exposure ranges from 25 µs to 3.1 sec with Rolling and Global Reset choices. GigE and PoE provide networked data and power, with IP67 applying after proper installation.

MV-CT2CG0060/R retains the same 3072 × 2048 Sony IMX178 sensor and 40 fps but uses a 42 mm C-mount body for separately chosen optics. MV-CT2CG0050/G/16LC/WN switches to global shutter and 59.2 fps at 2448 × 2048. MV-CT2CG0200/R/16LC/WN keeps the integrated 16 mm lens and rolling shutter while increasing resolution to 5472 × 3648 at 22.3 fps.

FAQ

What are the lens and light characteristics of this 6 MP assembly?

It integrates a C-mount 16 mm liquid lens and white light. The illumination has a 6000 K to 9000 K colour temperature, a 90° irradiation angle and approximate power of 7.7 W; the lens-cap bore measures Ø38.5 mm.

Can the integrated Sony IMX178 unit run from PoE alone?

PoE is supported through the 1000 Mbit/s Gigabit Ethernet connection on the M12 X-Code port. A 9–24 V DC option is also available through the M8 A-Code connector, which carries the camera's discrete I/O lines.

Does adding the liquid lens alter the 3072 × 2048 frame rate?

No change is stated: the integrated head reaches 40 fps at 3072 × 2048 in Bayer RG 8 with lossless compression enabled. It uses the same Sony IMX178 rolling-shutter sensor and 2.4 µm pixels as MV-CT2CG0060/R.

Which thermal range limits operation of the complete 6 MP head?

Although the camera body works from –30 °C to 60 °C, the lens-cap assembly works from 0 °C to 40 °C. The integrated configuration should therefore operate within 0 °C to 40 °C; both parts store from –30 °C to 80 °C.

What shutter behavior should be considered for moving subjects?

The Sony IMX178 uses a rolling shutter and provides Rolling and Global Reset operation. Exposure starts at 25 µs and extends to 3.1 sec. The head consequently fits stopped or indexed subjects more directly than fast translation through the image.

How large and heavy is the integrated lens-cap portion?

The complete assembly is 77 mm × 77 mm × 123.8 mm. The lens cap has a 70.5 mm outer length, 66 mm inner length and a listed weight of 330 g, while the underlying camera body is approximately 120 g.
