Fast color checks in the SC2000E range
Color inspection at up to 60 fps is the defining combination of MV-SC2004EC. The 1/2.9-inch CMOS sensor uses a global shutter and records 704 × 540 pixels with a 6.9 µm pitch. Exposure spans 16 µs to 1 sec, and an M12 mount with manual focus works with the built-in white LED lamp. This balance suits relatively low-resolution color decisions where acquisition speed and synchronized exposure matter more than a dense pixel grid.
Color measurement, color size, color counting and color recognition are available alongside OCR, edge, contour, pattern and dimensional tools. The sensor can therefore separate colored components, check presence and read characters within one stored solution. Communication uses 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet. A 17-pin M12 connection combines Ethernet, 12–24 V DC power, RS-232 and configurable digital I/O for trigger and result signals.
MV-SC2004EM keeps 704 × 540, 60 fps and global-shutter capture but changes to mono processing. MV-SC2016EC preserves the color response and 60 fps while doubling the image dimensions to 1408 × 1024 with 3.45 µm pixels. MV-SC2023XC extends color imaging to 1920 × 1280 and 75 fps. Choose MV-SC2004EC for fast color tools at the smaller image size; select MV-SC2016EC when additional spatial samples are needed without changing the rate.

FAQ
Which color operations are available in the MV-SC2004EC tool set?
The sensor includes color measurement, color size, color count, color contrast and color recognition. These can be combined with pattern and contour checks, OCR, fixture location and logical conditions to form an onboard decision sequence.
How does MV-SC2004EC capture parts moving through the view?
Its 704 × 540 CMOS imager uses a global shutter and runs at up to 60 fps. Exposure can be adjusted from 16 µs to 1 sec, so the capture timing can be matched to the motion, trigger spacing and available integrated illumination.
What lens and light arrangement is provided on MV-SC2004EC?
MV-SC2004EC has an M12 lens mount with manual focus adjustment and a white LED lamp. The sensor format is 1/2.9 inch with 6.9 µm pixels, parameters that should be used when checking the required field coverage and sampling.
What passes through the 17-pin M12 connection on MV-SC2004EC?
The connector carries power, Ethernet, serial communication and digital I/O. It provides one non-isolated input, one non-isolated output, two configurable non-isolated I/O lines, one RS-232 channel and one external-button input.
How does MV-SC2004EC differ from the MV-SC2016EC sensor?
Both are color, global-shutter SC2000E sensors rated at 60 fps with 1/2.9-inch formats. MV-SC2004EC uses 704 × 540 pixels at 6.9 µm, whereas MV-SC2016EC uses 1408 × 1024 pixels at 3.45 µm.
