Wide USB colour capture in context

A wide 4096 × 2160 colour image at 42 fps is the selection point for MV-CT2CU0089/G. The 1-inch Stacked BSI CMOS sensor has a 3.45 µm pixel pitch and global shutter, sending 8.9 MP Bayer GB 8 frames through USB 3.0. Its C-mount and 42 mm CT2 body accommodate the larger optical format while retaining a direct Type-C host link.

The geometry is suited to elongated components, several objects arranged across a transport path and wide colour feature inspection. A 20 µs exposure floor and Trigger Width or Trigger Controlled timing support moving material. USB 3.0 can also supply power, while the M8 A-Code connector provides discrete I/O and the IP67 enclosure supports machine installation.

MV-CT2CU0050/G increases speed to 80 fps but provides 2448 × 2048 on a 2/3-inch sensor. MV-CT2CU0120/G retains the 4096-pixel width, adds height to 3000 pixels and operates at 31 fps. MV-CT2CG0089/G matches 4096 × 2160 colour over GigE with PoE, at a lower 32.5 fps maximum.

Selection and applications

Wide colour inspection of moving parts. Multi-object USB image capture. Global-shutter elongated-component checks.

Minimum kit: MV-CT2CU0089/G, a 1-inch C-mount lens, a USB Type-C cable, and USB 3.0 power or a 9–24 V DC supply.

Nearby in the range: MV-CT2CU0050/G — Prefer it for 80 fps when 2448 × 2048 provides enough sampling.; MV-CT2CU0120/G — Prefer it for 4096 × 3000 colour at 31 fps.; MV-CT2CG0089/G — Prefer it for the same 4096 × 2160 format over GigE and PoE..

FAQ

Which suggested C-mount lenses cover the 1-inch USB sensor?

MVL-KF1628M-12MP and MVL-KF5024M-25MP are the suggested lenses. Both image circles cover the 1-inch format, while their 12 MP and 25 MP classes respectively exceed the approximately 8.9 MP camera image.

Can the Type-C link carry power for MV-CT2CU0089/G?

Yes. The camera supports USB 3.0 power supply through its Type-C interface. A separate 9–24 V DC source can be connected through the M8 A-Code port, which also carries one opto-isolated input, one output and one bidirectional I/O.

At which pixel format is the stated 42 fps rate available?

The maximum applies at 4096 × 2160 in Bayer GB 8 over USB 3.0. The interface can connect through USB 2.0 as well, and output choices include higher-bit Bayer GB formats, YUV422 variants, RGB 8, BGR 8 and Mono 8.

How is exposure synchronized for a wide moving scene?

The sensor exposes globally and supports exposure from 20 µs to 10 sec. Off, Once and Continuous control are provided together with Trigger Width and Trigger Controlled modes, allowing timing from an external process event.

What environmental limits apply around the 8.9 MP USB camera?

The working range is –30 °C to 60 °C, storage is –30 °C to 80 °C, and humidity is 20% RH to 95% RH without condensation. The enclosure is rated IP67 when the optical and cable interfaces are correctly sealed.
