Wide USB imaging and neighbors
Wide 4096 × 2160 acquisition at 42 fps is the defining combination for MV-CT2MU0089/G. Its 8.9 MP monochrome Stacked BSI CMOS sensor uses a global shutter, 3.45 × 3.45 µm pixels and a 1 in format. USB 3.0 carries Mono 8 at the stated maximum, while 10-bit and 12-bit monochrome formats are available. Exposure runs from 20 µs to 10 sec.
The 4096-pixel width supports elongated-part inspection, simultaneous checks across multiple features and dimensional analysis over a broad scene. Global exposure plus Trigger Width and Trigger Controlled modes allow a moving target to be sampled at a defined point. The Type-C link can provide both USB 3.0 data and camera power, and the 42 mm × 42 mm × 43 mm C-mount body is rated IP67 for correctly completed installations from –30 °C to 60 °C.
MV-CT2MU0050/G trades frame width for speed, producing 2448 × 2048 at 80 fps. MV-CT2MU0120/G retains 4096 horizontal pixels, adds vertical sampling to 3000 and runs at 31 fps. MV-CT2MG0089/G matches the 4096 × 2160 format through Gigabit Ethernet with PoE at 32.5 fps. Select MV-CT2MU0089/G when USB 3.0 and 42 fps are needed with the 8.9 MP wide frame.

FAQ
Which suggested lenses cover the 1 in MV-CT2MU0089/G sensor?
MVL-KF1628M-12MP and MVL-KF5024M-25MP are suggested. Both are C-mount lenses with image circles that cover the 1 in sensor. Their 12 MP and 25 MP classes exceed the camera's 4096 × 2160 format, and their focal lengths give different field-of-view choices.
Can USB 3.0 provide power to the MV-CT2MU0089/G camera?
Yes. The power input supports USB 3.0 supply through the Type-C interface, and a separate 9 V DC to 24 V DC source can also be used. An 8-pin M8 A-Code connector provides power and I/O with one isolated input, one isolated output and one bidirectional non-isolated line.
What image format defines the camera's stated 42 fps maximum?
The 42 fps rate applies at 4096 × 2160 in Mono 8 over USB 3.0. The camera is compatible with USB 2.0, which provides lower transport capacity. Mono 10, Mono 10 Packed, Mono 12 and Mono 12 Packed output are also supported when the application needs another pixel depth.
How are moving frames synchronized on MV-CT2MU0089/G?
The sensor uses a global shutter, and exposure can operate in Trigger Width or Trigger Controlled modes. Its available exposure interval is 20 µs to 10 sec. These controls allow the 4096 × 2160 frame to be aligned with an external machine event rather than acquired only continuously.
What binning, decimation and image-reversal controls are present?
Binning and decimation each offer 1 × 1, 2 × 2 and 4 × 4 factors. Horizontal and vertical reverse image output is supported as well. The controls provide alternative camera-side image arrangements while the native sensor format remains 4096 × 2160.
