Applications and positioning

A wide 4096 × 2160 image, global exposure and a Stacked BSI CMOS sensor define this monochrome 8.9 MP GigE unit. It records up to 32.5 fps in Mono 8 with lossless compression enabled, while 10–19 µs UltraShort exposure extends its use to sharply timed captures. The 1-inch sensor uses 3.45 µm pixels and a C-mount.

The combination suits dimensional checks, edge measurement and high-contrast inspection across a wide scene. Global shutter operation keeps translating parts geometrically consistent, and Trigger Width or Trigger Controlled exposure can align capture with a machine cycle. PoE can carry data and power through the GigE connection; the sealed installation is rated IP67.

Choose MV-CT1MG0089/G when monochrome 4096 × 2160 coverage matters more than the 4096 × 3000 height of MV-CT1MG0120/G; the latter runs at 23.9 fps. MV-CT1MU0089/G raises full-resolution speed to 42 fps through USB 3.0. MV-CT2CG0089/G keeps 32.5 fps over GigE but records colour in a 42 mm body rather than this 29 mm body.

Selection and applications

Wide-format monochrome dimensional inspection. Triggered capture of moving parts. IP67 machine-side image acquisition.

Minimum kit: MV-CT1MG0089/G, a C-mount lens, an 8-pin M12 X-Code GigE cable, and either PoE or a 9–24 V DC supply.

Nearby in the range: MV-CT1MG0120/G — Prefer it for 4096 × 3000 monochrome coverage at 23.9 fps.; MV-CT1MU0089/G — Prefer it for the same 4096 × 2160 format over USB 3.0 at 42 fps.; MV-CT2CG0089/G — Prefer it when colour output and the 42 mm CT2 housing are required..

FAQ

Which C-mount lenses are listed for the 1-inch sensor on this model?

MVL-KF1628M-12MP and MVL-KF5024M-25MP are the listed choices. Both are C-mount lenses whose image circles cover the 1-inch sensor, and both resolution classes exceed the camera's 4096 × 2160, approximately 8.9 MP, image requirement.

Can MV-CT1MG0089/G receive both power and image data over one link?

Yes. Its Gigabit Ethernet interface supports PoE, so a suitable 8-pin M12 X-Code connection can carry network traffic and power. The separate 8-pin M8 A-Code connector remains available for a 9–24 V DC feed and the three I/O lines.

What full-resolution rate is available and when is compression involved?

The stated maximum is 32.5 fps at 4096 × 2160 in Mono 8 when lossless compression mode is enabled. The link is 1000 Mbit/s Gigabit Ethernet and is also compatible with 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet, so host and network configuration must match the intended stream.

How short can exposure be for rapidly moving monochrome parts?

UltraShort exposure covers 10–19 µs, while standard exposure spans 20 µs to 10 sec. Together with a global shutter, Trigger Width and Trigger Controlled operation, this allows image timing to be tied closely to motion or an external machine event.

What environmental limits apply to a sealed MV-CT1MG0089/G installation?

The working range is –30 °C to 60 °C and the rating is IP67 when the lens, lens cap and wiring are installed correctly. The permitted humidity is 20% RH to 95% RH without condensation, which must also be respected at the installation point.
