Tasks and place in the range
A dense 4096 × 3024 monochrome image from 2 µm pixels gives this compact GigE camera its character. The 12 MP Stacked BSI CMOS device uses a rolling shutter and supplies 18.4 fps in Mono 8 with lossless compression enabled. Its 1/1.56-inch format keeps the optical assembly compact, while exposure extends from 26 µs to 10 sec.
This combination is directed at fine-detail inspection of stationary or deliberately indexed parts, where spatial sampling takes priority over high line speed. Mono 8 through Mono 12Packed support intensity-based measurement, and 2 × 2 or 4 × 4 binning and decimation allow alternate acquisition formats. PoE and IP67 simplify a sealed machine-side installation.
For moving subjects, MV-CT1MG0120/G substitutes global exposure, 3.45 µm pixels and 23.9 fps at 4096 × 3000. MV-CT1MG0200/R stays with a rolling shutter but increases detail to 5472 × 3648 and 22.3 fps on a 1-inch Sony IMX183 sensor. MV-CT2CG0120/R matches the 4096 × 3024 timing in colour and uses the larger CT2 housing.

FAQ
What optics are proposed for the compact 1/1.56-inch monochrome sensor?
MVL-KF3524M-25MP and MVL-KF5024M-25MP are the proposed C-mount lenses. Their 19.3 mm image circles cover the 1/1.56-inch sensor, and their 25 MP class is above the approximately 12.4 MP formed by 4096 × 3024 pixels.
When is the rolling shutter on MV-CT1MG0120/R the appropriate choice?
It aligns with stationary, indexed or slowly changing scenes where the 4096 × 3024 sampling is the priority. Exposure runs from 26 µs to 10 sec. For faster motion requiring simultaneous line exposure, MV-CT1MG0120/G is the global-shutter neighbour.
Which connection carries the 18.4 fps monochrome image stream?
The full-resolution 18.4 fps Mono 8 figure assumes lossless compression. Frames use 1000 Mbit/s Gigabit Ethernet through an 8-pin M12 X-Code waterproof connector; the interface can also operate with 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet.
What are the power options and typical draw for this rolling-shutter CT1?
MV-CT1MG0120/R accepts 9–24 V DC and supports PoE. Typical consumption is 1.4 W at 12 V DC with fast heat balance disabled. The M8 A-Code connector also presents one opto-isolated input, one opto-isolated output and one bidirectional non-isolated I/O.
Which on-camera sampling controls are available for 4096 × 3024 input?
Both binning and decimation support 1 × 1, 2 × 2 and 4 × 4 settings. Output may also be reversed horizontally or vertically, and the monochrome pixel choices span Mono 8, 10, 10Packed, 12 and 12Packed.
