Fine-pixel 12 MP positioning

Dense 2 × 2 µm pixels distinguish MV-CT2MG0120/R within the 12 MP group. Its monochrome Stacked BSI CMOS sensor has a 1/1.56 in format and a rolling shutter, delivering 4096 × 3024 at up to 18.4 fps in losslessly compressed Mono 8 over Gigabit Ethernet. Exposure spans 26 µs to 10 sec, and gain can be adjusted from 0 dB to 24 dB.

The pixel pitch and 4096 × 3024 frame support stationary fine-feature inspection, broad-area measurement and step-and-capture imaging. Because readout is rolling shutter, geometry-sensitive work should use a stationary target, stopped indexing or strobe-controlled exposure. The camera offers 1 × 1, 2 × 2 and 4 × 4 binning or decimation, accepts PoE, and encloses the C-mount sensor in an IP67 body rated from –30 °C to 60 °C.

MV-CT2MG0120/G uses a global shutter, 3.45 × 3.45 µm pixels and 4096 × 3000 output at 23.9 fps, making it the direct motion-oriented 12 MP choice. MV-CT2MG0060/R reaches 40.0 fps at 3072 × 2048 when less resolution is acceptable. MV-CT2MG0200/R retains a rolling shutter but expands to 5472 × 3648 at 22.3 fps. Select this model for its particular 4096 × 3024 fine-pixel format.

FAQ

Which lenses are suggested for the 1/1.56 in rolling-shutter sensor?

The suggested models are MVL-KF3524M-25MP and MVL-KF5024M-25MP. Both are 25 MP-class C-mount lenses with Ø19.3 mm image circles, which cover the 1/1.56 in sensor and exceed the 4096 × 3024 camera format. Their focal lengths set the final field of view.

Is MV-CT2MG0120/R appropriate for continuously moving objects?

Its sensor uses a rolling shutter, so motion during line-sequential readout can alter object geometry. Geometry-sensitive work should use a stationary target, stopped indexing or strobe-controlled exposure. For moving targets requiring global exposure, MV-CT2MG0120/G supplies a global shutter at 4096 × 3000 and 23.9 fps.

What exposure and gain ranges are available on this 12 MP variant?

Exposure can be set from 26 µs to 10 sec, and gain ranges from 0 dB to 24 dB. Exposure modes are Off, Once and Continuous. The maximum 18.4 fps value applies at 4096 × 3024 in Mono 8 with lossless compression enabled.

How is the 4096 × 3024 stream powered and transported?

Transport uses 1 Gbit/s Gigabit Ethernet through an 8-pin M12 X-Code connector. Power may be supplied by PoE or through a 9 V DC to 24 V DC input. Typical consumption is 1.4 W at 24 V DC under the stated operating condition.

What environmental protection is stated for MV-CT2MG0120/R?

The housing is IP67 when the lens, lens cap and wiring are installed correctly. Its working range is –30 °C to 60 °C, storage range is –30 °C to 80 °C, and permitted humidity is 20% RH to 95% RH without condensation.
