High-rate inspection and alternatives

A 1624 × 1240 colour frame at 177.3 fps positions MV-CT2CG0020/G between the fastest low-resolution CT2 cameras and the 3.2 MP class. Its 1/2.53-inch Stacked BSI CMOS sensor uses 3.45 µm pixels and a global shutter. Lossless compression enables the stated Bayer GB 8 rate over Gigabit Ethernet.

The camera targets fast colour classification, component-presence checks and motion analysis where 2 MP sampling is enough to resolve the feature. Exposure starts at 23 µs, and Trigger Width or Trigger Controlled operation can lock global capture to a part sensor. PoE, an M12 X-Code data connector and IP67 sealing address machine-side cabling and exposure to dust or moisture.

MV-CT2CG0016/G is slightly faster at 180 fps but provides 1440 × 1080 on a smaller 1/2.9-inch sensor. MV-CT2CG0032/G moves to 2048 × 1536 and a 1/1.8-inch format, reducing speed to 77.5 fps. MV-CT2CG0004/G maximizes rate at 200.5 fps when its lower 720 × 540 colour image covers the required feature.

Selection and applications

Fast colour component classification. Triggered moving-part presence checks. High-rate PoE image capture.

Minimum kit: MV-CT2CG0020/G, a C-mount lens for the 1/2.53-inch sensor, an 8-pin M12 X-Code GigE cable, and either PoE or 9–24 V DC.

Nearby in the range: MV-CT2CG0016/G — Prefer it for 180 fps at the smaller 1440 × 1080 image size.; MV-CT2CG0032/G — Prefer it for 2048 × 1536 colour sampling at 77.5 fps.; MV-CT2CG0004/G — Prefer it for 200.5 fps when 720 × 540 meets the inspection..

FAQ

Which suggested lenses cover the 1/2.53-inch MV-CT2CG0020/G sensor?

MVL-KF1628M-12MP and MVL-KF5024M-25MP are suggested. Both are C-mount lenses with image coverage beyond the 1/2.53-inch sensor, and their optical resolution classes exceed the approximately 2 MP, 1624 × 1240 image.

What power and I/O wiring does the 2 MP GigE model accept?

It can use PoE or a 9–24 V DC supply. The 8-pin M8 A-Code connector provides power plus one opto-isolated input, one opto-isolated output and one bidirectional non-isolated I/O. Typical consumption is 1.6 W at 24 V DC.

What transmission conditions apply to 177.3 fps colour output?

The full-rate figure is for 1624 × 1240 Bayer GB 8 with lossless compression enabled. The 8-pin M12 X-Code data port carries 1000 Mbit/s Gigabit Ethernet and can also work with 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet.

How does MV-CT2CG0020/G time exposure for moving components?

Its Stacked BSI CMOS sensor has a global shutter and a 23 µs to 10 sec exposure range. Off, Once and Continuous exposure modes are supported, together with Trigger Width and Trigger Controlled timing for an external event.

Which colour and reduced-resolution formats can the camera produce?

Colour output includes Bayer GB 8 through 12Packed, YUV422Packed, YUV422_YUYV_Packed, RGB 8 and BGR 8, with Mono 8 also present. Binning and decimation each provide 1 × 1, 2 × 2 and 4 × 4 settings.
