USB colour speed and positioning

Direct USB 3.0 colour acquisition at 104.8 fps is the distinguishing feature of MV-CT2CU0032/G. Its 1/1.8-inch Stacked BSI CMOS sensor combines 2048 × 1536 resolution, 3.45 µm pixels and a global shutter. The Type-C link carries Bayer GR 8 frames from this 3.2 MP CT2 body and can also provide camera power.

This combination fits colour sorting, fast assembly verification and orientation checks on moving parts where a local host is close to the camera. High Sensitivity exposure begins at 5 µs, with Trigger Width and Trigger Controlled modes for machine synchronization. The 42 mm housing adds an M12 A-Code control port, M8 discrete I/O and IP67 sealing after correct assembly.

MV-CT1MU0032/G matches 2048 × 1536 and 104.8 fps in monochrome, while reducing the housing to 29 mm and omitting the separate control connector. MV-CT2CG0032/G keeps colour and the same resolution but uses GigE and PoE at 77.5 fps. MV-CT2CU0050/G increases resolution to 2448 × 2048 and reduces maximum speed to 80 fps.

FAQ

Which C-mount lenses are suggested for the 3.2 MP USB colour model?

MVL-KF1628M-12MP and MVL-KF5024M-25MP are suggested. Both lenses cover the 1/1.8-inch sensor, and their 12 MP and 25 MP resolution classes respectively exceed the approximately 3.2 MP formed by 2048 × 1536 pixels.

Can MV-CT2CU0032/G draw operating power through USB Type-C?

Yes. USB power is supported and typical consumption is 1.6 W at 5 V DC when USB 3.0 provides power, fast heat balance is disabled and no external device is controlled. A separate 9–24 V DC input is available on the M8 connector.

What connection supports the quoted 104.8 fps colour stream?

The maximum is stated at 2048 × 1536 in Bayer GR 8 over USB 3.0. The Type-C interface is also compatible with USB 2.0, whose lower link capacity must be taken into account when selecting resolution, frame rate and pixel format.

How does the camera expose rapidly translating colour parts?

The CMOS sensor uses a global shutter. Exposure in High Sensitivity mode spans 5 µs to 10 sec, while High Full Well Capacity mode spans 30 µs to 10 sec. Trigger Width and Trigger Controlled timing are both supported.

Which machine connections accompany the USB data port?

An 8-pin M12 A-Code connector is provided for control, and an 8-pin M8 A-Code connector carries power and I/O. The latter supplies one opto-isolated input, one opto-isolated output and one bidirectional non-isolated line.
