High-speed inspection and range position

High-speed monochrome capture defines the MV-CT2MG0016/G: a 1.6 MP Stacked BSI CMOS sensor combines 1440 × 1080 output, a global shutter and 180 fps in Mono 8 with lossless compression enabled. Gigabit Ethernet carries the stream, while the 3.45 × 3.45 µm pixels and 1/2.9 in sensor keep the optical format compact. Exposure extends from 23 µs to 10 sec for both short events and longer integrations.

The global shutter and 180 fps rate suit inspection of moving parts, presence checks and position measurement on a conveyor without line-by-line rolling-shutter geometry. Trigger Width and Trigger Controlled exposure allow acquisition to follow a machine event. A C-mount lens serves the small sensor, PoE can combine data and power, and the IP67 housing operates from –30 °C to 60 °C when the lens, cap and wiring are installed correctly.

Within the CT range, MV-CT2MG0020/G raises sampling to 1624 × 1240 while remaining close in speed at 177.3 fps. MV-CT2MG0032/G moves to 2048 × 1536 and a 1/1.8 in sensor, but its full-resolution rate is 77.5 fps. Select MV-CT2MG0016/G when 1440 × 1080 is sufficient and frame rate is the priority; move to either neighbor when additional spatial detail outweighs the lower capture rate.

FAQ

Which C-mount lenses are listed for the MV-CT2MG0016/G sensor?

MVL-KF1628M-12MP and MVL-KF5024M-25MP are listed. Both are C-mount lenses whose image circles cover the 1/2.9 in sensor. Their 12 MP and 25 MP lens classes are above the camera's 1440 × 1080 sampling requirement; choose focal length from the required field of view and working distance.

Can MV-CT2MG0016/G receive power through its Ethernet connection?

Yes. The camera supports PoE as well as a 9 V DC to 24 V DC input. The Gigabit Ethernet path uses an 8-pin M12 X-Code connector, while power and I/O are presented on an 8-pin M8 A-Code connector. Typical consumption is 1.6 W at 24 V DC under the stated operating condition.

What is required to reach the stated 180 fps acquisition rate?

The 180 fps figure applies at 1440 × 1080 in Mono 8 with lossless compression enabled. The data link is 1 Gbit/s Gigabit Ethernet and is also compatible with Fast Ethernet, but the lower-rate link should not be assumed to sustain the full stated stream.

How does the shutter support fast conveyor inspection on this model?

Its CMOS sensor uses a global shutter, so the complete frame is exposed together rather than scanned line by line. Exposure can be set as short as 23 µs, and Trigger Width or Trigger Controlled operation can tie exposure timing to the machine cycle. The maximum rate is 180 fps at the stated Mono 8 setting.

What environmental limits apply to an installed MV-CT2MG0016/G?

The working range is –30 °C to 60 °C, with storage from –30 °C to 80 °C and 20% RH to 95% RH without condensation. IP67 applies when the lens and lens cap are installed correctly and the wiring is properly completed, so sealing depends on the assembled installation.
