USB 12 MP selection guide
A 4096 × 3000 global-shutter frame at 31 fps gives MV-CT2MU0120/G its place in the USB branch of the CT series. The monochrome Stacked BSI CMOS sensor uses a 1.1 in optical format and 3.45 × 3.45 µm pixels. USB 3.0 transports the image through Type-C, with Mono 8 defining the maximum-rate condition and exposure adjustable from 20 µs to 10 sec.
Large-field dimensional inspection, multi-feature verification and moving-part capture can use the combination of 12 MP sampling and global exposure. Trigger Width and Trigger Controlled modes synchronize the frame with external machinery. A C-mount lens must cover the 1.1 in sensor, and power can come through USB 3.0 or a 9 V DC to 24 V DC input. The IP67 body works from –30 °C to 60 °C when properly assembled and wired.
MV-CT2MU0089/G uses 4096 × 2160 and reaches 42 fps when a wider, shorter frame is enough. MV-CT2MG0120/G matches the 4096 × 3000 global-shutter format but changes to Gigabit Ethernet with PoE and a 23.9 fps maximum. MV-CT2MG0120/R adds vertical samples to 3024 through smaller 2 × 2 µm pixels, but uses a rolling shutter at 18.4 fps. Choose this model for 12 MP capture on a USB 3.0 host connection.

FAQ
Which C-mount lenses are suggested for the 1.1 in USB camera?
The suggested options are MVL-KF3524M-25MP and MVL-KF5024M-25MP. Both are 25 MP-class C-mount lenses with Ø19.3 mm image circles, covering the 1.1 in sensor and its 4096 × 3000 format. Their different focal lengths support different scene widths.
Can the MV-CT2MU0120/G receive operating power over Type-C?
Yes. USB 3.0 power supply is supported through the Type-C interface. The camera also accepts an external 9 V DC to 24 V DC input. Machine I/O is available on the 8-pin M8 A-Code connector, including one opto-isolated input, one opto-isolated output and one bidirectional line.
At what format does the USB 12 MP model reach 31 fps?
The stated maximum is 31 fps at 4096 × 3000 in Mono 8 over USB 3.0. USB 2.0 operation is supported with lower transport capability. The camera can also output Mono 10, Mono 10 Packed, Mono 12 and Mono 12 Packed when the processing chain requires another pixel representation.
What shutter and trigger controls are available for motion?
The sensor has a global shutter and offers Trigger Width and Trigger Controlled exposure in addition to Off, Once and Continuous operation. Exposure can be set from 20 µs to 10 sec, allowing acquisition timing to be matched to the external process and available illumination.
How does this USB model differ from MV-CT2MG0120/G?
Both cameras use a 4096 × 3000 global-shutter Stacked BSI sensor with 3.45 × 3.45 µm pixels. MV-CT2MU0120/G uses USB 3.0 and reaches 31 fps; MV-CT2MG0120/G uses Gigabit Ethernet, supports PoE and reaches 23.9 fps with lossless compression.
