Twenty-megapixel colour applications

A 5472 × 3648 colour image is the defining feature of the Sony IMX183 used by MV-CT2CG0200/R. The 1-inch CMOS sensor has 2.4 µm pixels, a rolling shutter and a 22.3 fps Bayer GB 8 rate with lossless compression enabled. Gigabit Ethernet carries the 20 MP stream from a C-mount CT2 camera.

Its dense image suits stationary surface inspection, colour analysis of large components and reading compact markings after an indexed stop. Rolling and Global Reset modes accompany a 46 µs to 2.78 sec exposure range, with Trigger Width and Trigger Controlled timing available. PoE, separate control and discrete I/O connections, and IP67 sealing support machine integration.

MV-CT2CG0120/R uses the same rolling-shutter approach at 4096 × 3024 and 18.4 fps on a smaller sensor. MV-CT2CG0120/G offers global exposure at 4096 × 3000 and 23.9 fps when motion behavior matters more than 20 MP detail. MV-CT1MG0200/R matches the Sony IMX183 resolution and rate in monochrome, reducing the housing from 42 mm to 29 mm square.

Selection and applications

Dense colour surface inspection. Large-component indexed imaging. Twenty-megapixel marking capture.

Minimum kit: MV-CT2CG0200/R, a 1-inch C-mount lens, an 8-pin M12 X-Code GigE cable, and either a PoE source or 9–24 V DC supply.

Nearby in the range: MV-CT2CG0120/R — Prefer it for 4096 × 3024 rolling-shutter colour at 18.4 fps.; MV-CT2CG0120/G — Prefer it for global-shutter 4096 × 3000 capture at 23.9 fps.; MV-CT1MG0200/R — Prefer it for the same Sony IMX183 format in monochrome and a 29 mm body..

FAQ

What lenses are proposed for the 1-inch 20 MP colour model?

MVL-KF3524M-25MP and MVL-KF5024M-25MP are proposed. Each C-mount lens has a 19.3 mm image circle that covers the 1-inch sensor, while its 25 MP class exceeds the approximately 20 MP image from 5472 × 3648 pixels.

What power source can share the GigE cable on MV-CT2CG0200/R?

PoE can share the 8-pin M12 X-Code Ethernet connection with image data. A 9–24 V DC source can instead feed the M8 A-Code port. Typical consumption is 2.3 W at 24 V DC with fast heat balance disabled and no external device controlled.

Which output conditions produce the stated 22.3 fps maximum?

The figure applies at 5472 × 3648 in Bayer GB 8 with lossless compression enabled. The camera transmits through 1000 Mbit/s Gigabit Ethernet and can also operate through 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet.

How can the Sony IMX183 exposure be synchronized in an indexed cell?

The camera supports Trigger Width and Trigger Controlled exposure, plus Off, Once and Continuous operation. Exposure spans 46 µs to 2.78 sec, and the rolling-shutter sensor provides both Rolling and Global Reset modes.

What differs in MV-CT2CG0200/R/16LC/WN besides enclosure size?

The imaging core remains 5472 × 3648 at 22.3 fps. The standard model accepts an external C-mount lens; /16LC/WN integrates a C-mount 16 mm liquid lens and white illumination in a 77 mm × 77 mm × 123.8 mm assembly.
