20 MP inspection and alternatives
A Sony IMX183 sensor and 5472 × 3648 output make MV-CT2MG0200/R the highest-resolution camera in this group. The 20 MP monochrome CMOS device uses a rolling shutter, 2.4 × 2.4 µm pixels and a 1 in optical format. It reaches 22.3 fps in Mono 8 with lossless compression over Gigabit Ethernet, with exposure from 46 µs to 2.78 sec and gain from 0 dB to 24 dB.
The dense frame serves stationary surface inspection, broad-area dimensional analysis and stepwise capture where small image features require many samples. Rolling and Global Reset modes are available, but motion planning must still reflect the rolling-shutter sensor. A C-mount lens covers the 1 in format, while PoE, sealed M12/M8 connectivity and IP67 protection support installations operating from –30 °C to 60 °C.
MV-CT2MG0120/R uses the same shutter class but records 4096 × 3024 at 18.4 fps with smaller 2 × 2 µm pixels. MV-CT2MG0120/G offers a global shutter at 4096 × 3000 and 23.9 fps when motion geometry takes precedence. MV-CT2MG0200/R/16LC/WN keeps the Sony IMX183, 5472 × 3648 and 22.3 fps, adding a 16 mm liquid lens and white light for an integrated optical head.

FAQ
Which C-mount lenses are suggested for the 1 in Sony IMX183?
MVL-KF3524M-25MP and MVL-KF5024M-25MP are suggested. Both have C-mount interfaces, Ø19.3 mm image circles that cover the 1 in sensor, and 25 MP optical classes above the camera's 5472 × 3648 format. Select the focal length from the required scene width.
How should motion be handled with the 20 MP rolling shutter?
The Sony IMX183 is a rolling-shutter sensor, so continuous motion during readout can create geometry differences across the frame. Rolling and Global Reset exposure modes are supported. Geometry-sensitive use of the 5472 × 3648 format should rely on a stationary target, stopped indexing or strobe-controlled exposure.
What is the full-resolution frame-rate reference for this model?
The stated maximum is 22.3 fps at 5472 × 3648 in Mono 8 with lossless compression enabled. The camera also provides Mono 10, Mono 10 Packed, Mono 12 and Mono 12 Packed output, which change payload size from the maximum-rate reference format.
Can the Gigabit Ethernet cable also power MV-CT2MG0200/R?
PoE is supported, so the network installation can supply camera power. A separate 9 V DC to 24 V DC input is also available. Typical consumption is 1.9 W at 24 V DC under the stated condition, and Ethernet uses an 8-pin M12 X-Code connector.
What changes in the integrated /16LC/WN 20 MP configuration?
The sensor, 5472 × 3648 format, rolling shutter and 22.3 fps maximum remain unchanged. MV-CT2MG0200/R/16LC/WN adds a 16 mm liquid lens and white illumination, increasing the assembly from a 42 mm × 42 mm × 43 mm camera body to 77 mm × 77 mm × 123.8 mm.
